Baseball Wins 20th Game of the Season
Hewitt-Trussville Baseball is now 20-2 overall on the season after collecting five wins over the last week. The Huskies went 3-0 during Spring Break at the Gulf Coast Classic. HT opened the event on March 22 with a 11-1 win over Haleyville. Skylar Jones did not allow a hit over five innings and struck out 10 batters. Jackson Holland had two hits and drove in three runs. Matt Miller had two doubles and a RBI. Gavin Ellison and Riley Quick also drove in multiple runs.
Later in the afternoon, the Huskies shut out Boaz 15-0. Logan Phillips was the winning pitcher. Matt Miller hit a two-run homerun. Hudson Boren had three hits and drove in three runs. Ethan Duhon, Gavin Ellison, and Riley Quick all had multiple RBI's.
On Tuesday, HT beat Stanhope Elmore 9-5. Riley Quick hit his second grand slam of the season. Baker Green was the winning pitcher. Trey Burrell and Ethan Duhon both scored twice each.
On March 29, the Huskies beat Spring Garden 2-0 and Minor 11-1. Logan Phillips and Riley Quick picked up the wins on the mound.

Softball Goes Undefeated in Gulf Shores Event
Hewitt-Trussville Softball is now 23-1-1 on the season after going a perfect 6-0 in the Gulf Coast Classic this week. The semifinal game and championship game of the tournament were canceled due to weather in the area.
HT 9 Wetumpka 8
Jenna Lord homered and drove in four runs for the Huskies. Kenleigh Cahalan was 2-3 at the plate and scored twice. Hannah Dorsett had a hit and drove in three runs.
HT 8 Green County (AR) 2
Sarah Hindman picked up the win as she allowed just two hits. Jenna Lord was 3-3 at the plate with three RBI's. Anyce Harvey, Kenleigh Cahalan, and Madi Mitchell all had two hits each.
HT 3 Chilton County 1
Sara Phillips got the win as she struck out 11 batters in six innings. Anyce Harvey, Hannah Dorsett, and Madi Mitchell all had two hits.
HT 15 Pleasant Valley 0
Anyce Harvey was 3-3 and drove in three runs. Kenleigh Cahalan and Rylee Tyree were both 2-2 at the plate and drove in a combined four runs.
HT 1 Pleasant Valley 0
Sarah Hindman threw a shutout and struck out six batters. The Huskies scored the game's lone run in the 4th inning,
HT 12 Dale County 6
Anyce Harvey, Hannah Dorsett, and Jenna Lord all had three hits each. The trio combined to drive in six runs.

Boys Golf Finishes 2nd in Match Play Event
Hewitt-Trussville Boys Golf hosted the inaugural Husky Match Play Tournament at Pine Tree Country Club on Monday. The Huskies opened the event with a 3-2 win over Oak Mountain in the quarterfinals. HT went on to beat Oneonta 4.5-0.5 in the semifinals. In the championship match, the Huskies tied White Plains 2.5-2.5, but White Plains took the title via the tiebreaker.
These golfers competed for the Huskies on Monday: Ethan Hacker, Gavin Isbell, Stuart Dickson, Austin Freeman, and Shaw Helfrich.

Track and Field Wins in Helena
Hewitt-Trussville Track and Field traveled to the Helena Classic on the Hill event on March 18. The HT Boys and HT Girls both took home first place trophies.

Tonya Hunter Named 7A Coach of the Year
Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball Coach Tonya Hunter was named 7A Girls Basketball Coach of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.
Hunter led the Huskies to a school-record 29 wins and an appearance in the Final Four for just the second time in school history. HT finished as the 7A State Runner-Up.

Girls Basketball Well Represented on All-State Team
The Alabama Sports Writers Association released the Basketball All-State Teams on Sunday. HT Girls Basketball was well represented after winning a program record 29 games during the 2020-2021 season. The Huskies advanced to the Final Four for the second time in school history and finished as the 7A State Runner-Up.
Head Coach Tonya Hunter was named the 7A Coach of the Year, Senior Amiya Payne earned First-Team All-State honors. Freshman Jordan Hunter was named Third-Team All-State.

HTMS Baseball Goes 3-1 Over Spring Break
HTMS Baseball won three games over Spring Break. The Huskies opened with a 22-0 win over Montevallo. After dropping a 3-2 contest to Oak Mountain, HT responded with a 10-0 win over Columbiana. Colby Durden pitched a complete game shutout. The Huskies then won 5-3 over Thompson.
MS Softball Beats Pizitz
HTMS Softball shutout Pizitz 9-0 on Monday night in the first game back after Spring Break. HT will be back at home on Tuesday when they host Simmons.
HTMS Boys Golf Has Top Three Finish
HTMS Boys Golf finished in 3rd place at the Homewood Invitational on Monday. Colen Sutton fired a round of 39 to secure a top-10 finish. Miles Darnell and Charlie Crowson shot 40 to finish T14. Jacob Carmichael shot a 41 to finish T15.
The Huskies will travel to Frank House Golf Course on Thursday for the Simmons Invitational.
MS Girls Golf Tops Homewood
HTMS Girls Golf beat Homewood by ten shots in a dual match Monday. The Huskies were led by Layne Rutledge who shot a round of 36. Brynlea Franklin shot a 42 and Kellyn Cox shot a 45.
