Principal's Newsletter
From the Desk of Ms. Clark
June 7, 2018
Dear Parents,
As I write my last newsletter for the school year, please join me in welcoming the following new members to our SKD Family for the 2018-2019 School Year:
Mrs. Stacey Desmond who will teach first grade in 1A.
Ms. Elizabeth Menna who will teach second grade in 2B.Mr. Colin Durnin who will teach fourth grade in 4B.
Mrs. Elaine Walton who will be our PreK 4 aide.
Please join me in congratulating Saint Katharine Drexel’s graduating Class of 2018! This class has obtained over $225,000 in high school scholarships! We are so proud of them! It has been a privilege to get to know each of them and to watch them grow. We know they will continue to make us proud as they move on to high school. In the words of Pope Francis, “Do not bury your talents, the gifts that God has given you! Do not be afraid to dream of great things!”
God has blessed us with many gifts and opportunities this school year. There are always challenges ahead of us as we continue to seek out His path for our lives. Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic School is a great place to be, and we will continue to work together to make it even better.
I hope you find time to relax, rest, and spend quality time with your family this summer. I look forward to the 2018-2019 school year with great anticipation and hope for another outstanding year of Catholic education.
In closing, I share the following passages with you. The first one is a letter to parents from a principal in Singapore and the second one reminds us that just because everyone does not get public recognition, does not mean that success has not been achieved! Shout out to ALL of the students on their accomplishments this school year!!. We are so proud of ALL of our students at Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic School.
God’s blessings,
Ms. Clark

Please know that no parent who sincerely desires a Catholic education for their child at Saint Katharine Drexel School will be denied registration because of true financial hardships. Each parish will address this concern on a case by case basis for their parishioners. Any additional financial aid scholarship, in addition to the parishes’ subsidy, will be predetermined, and awarded by the parish, prior to the start of the academic year.
