We still have a big goal - thanks for supporting our Annual Fund in support of ongoing school needs!
Texas Bluebonnet Book Award Breakfast
Way to go readers! We had a great turnout this morning for our 3rd annual Bluebonnet Breakfast. We will be updating you with favorite book awards and class results once all the tallies are in. Thanks to Ms. Shachon, Ms. Prema, and Ms. Amanda for all your coordination.
Gala Class Wine Cellar Collections
Thank you to all our families who donated wine for our gala class wine collections! We have amazing cellars in the works which we can't wait for you to bid on at our upcoming event. If you have not yet had the opportunity to bring in a bottle, please contact Jenn Larson to make other arrangements for dropping off your donation.
FIRST LEGO League Presentation-Sat., 1/19 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Come join us in cheering on the AIS 5e team, L’AustIn Space, at the FIRST LEGO League competition tomorrow at Meridian World School from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm! The Robot Game is free and open to the public, starting at 9:00 AM. The judging portion of the event, which will happen all morning, is closed to the public. We were so proud of our students’ creativity, thoughtfulness, level of analysis, and above all, integration of international-mindedness in their project. Go team!

No School, MLK Day-Mon. 1/21
Legislation signed in 1983 marked the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as a federal holiday. In 1994, Congress designated the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Holiday as a national day of service and charged the Corporation for National and Community Service with leading this effort. Each year, on the third Monday in January, the MLK Day of Service is observed as a "day on, not a day off." MLK Day of Service is intended to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, create solutions to social problems, and move us closer to Dr. King's vision of a "Beloved Community."--www.nationalservice.gov
Our AIS community embodies this vision throughout the year in the ongoing volunteerism efforts to enhance our school and other projects undertaken to support the greater Austin community. Thank you for all the wonderful donations in our most recent Toy & Clothing Drive supporting The Settlement Home for Children and kudos to our student council for spearheading this project of giving.
MAP Assessments Continue Next Week
MAP Testing will continue next week. Please be sure that students get a good rest and eat a healthy breakfast on testing days! Be on the lookout for an email from Emily with testing schedules. MAP Information Sessions will be held once the testing session is complete. Families who have already attended a MAP Information Session will receive their child's score report once the test session is closed. If you have not yet attended a MAP Information Session, you will need to attend one in order to receive your child's scores.
