All-Region Band Selections

Please help me congratulate the following 8th grade students for being selected to participate in the ATSSB Region 2 MS All-Region Band: Adelaide Goodling, Addyson Hoffman, Elijah Hooper and Kaitlyn Luther. The All-Region Band is an ensemble consisting of the best students from the local middle schools who audition for a spot. Only a small number of students are selected to perform in this ensemble and it is a huge honor to be selected.

UIL Academic Meet

On January 18th, PJH students will travel to Whitesboro Middle School to participate in the first UIL meet. This meet will include the spelling, music memory, oral reading, modern oratory and impromptu speaking. All other events will take place at NCTC-Gainesville campus on Friday, January 20th. This year, the UIL meet will include all eight teams in the district. Students and staff continue to work hard to continue the PISD tradition of excellence.

PSAT 8/9

PJH 8th graders will be taking the PSAT 8/9 on March 21, 2023. The PSAT 8/9 assessment is given to 8th and 9th graders and is closely aligned to the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT and the PSAT 10. It is made up of questions in Evidence-Based Reading & Writing, and Math. This assessment helps establish a baseline for students as they enter high school and begin preparing for college and career readiness. We are very excited to provide this opportunity to our students.

TMSCA

The TMSCA students competed in their first meet of the year on Saturday, January 14th. The meet was hosted by Mrs. Glisson and her HS TMSCA team/parents. Our PJH students competed very well and brought home the SWEEPSTAKES trophy. Please help me congratulate the following students for finishing in the top 10:
