A Message from Mrs. Rittmiller
Greetings Families,
December is such a wonderful time of year when we seem to focus a little more on reaching out to others in kindness and good will. It is inspiring to see how much our community gives this time of year and always. We have many programs here at school that reflect the caring culture of our students and families. Our Toys for Tots and our Food Drive are great ways to show our support to those in need. Our students have been participating in different kindness activities and service learning in their classrooms. Our families and community members give countless hours of their time and donate so many resources to make Bridges Community School a better place for students and staff. Thank you to each and every one!
I am thankful that Bridges Community School continues to strive for excellence in each and every classroom, to grow stronger by our diversity, and to cultivate an open and positive school climate.
Our students and staff continue to work on and apply our many lifeskills. This week our skill is cooperation. I have witnessed cooperation and working together with our reading buddies. in the cafeteria, on the playground and in our classrooms!
Working together,
Jody Rittmiller, Principal

NWEA MAPS Testing Update
This week our students have started to take the NWEA standardized assessment. Our NWEA standardized assessment window has changed from Spring to Winter testing. The testing window is now from December 1- 23rd. During these weeks children in grades K-5 will take a MAP Growth test from NWEA. Students take MAP Growth tests to determine their instructional level and to measure academic growth in math and reading throughout the school year and from year to year. Teachers use this to help diagnose student learning needs and skills to work on for the remainder of the school year.
