A Note from Mrs. Johansen
Dear Sandburg Families,
The 2nd quarter is firmly underway and we are back in the routine of school! Please make sure you're checking your child's grades and helping them stay on top of their homework. We have opportunities at school where your child can receive additional help at lunch and after school.
While we strive to teach independence with our students, we appreciate the partnership between home and school. Here is a link to our staff directory for your reference. Don't hesitate to reach out to our staff for help if you need any support!
We are excited about this week's Wildcat Warm-up. Thank you to our Sandburg PTSA for planning this fun event! These events are successful because of the volunteers who support them and we can still use more help. Please sign up at this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4aadae2ea3f4c25-winter#/
Thank you for your continued support at Sandburg!

Wildcat Recognition for 2nd Quarter
The Sandburg Staff are proud to recognize many Wildcats for tremendous work during the 2022-2023 school year. We have a bulletin board in the main hallway to recognize students for their work in the 2nd quarter.
We recognized 12 students with the Wildcat of the Quarter award. These students demonstrated citizenship, hard work, leadership, great improvement, scholarship and creativity.
We recognized 12 students with the "One of Us" award. These students demonstrated the ability to make the classroom a better place. They bring positive energy, are creative, and share their unique gifts with the CS community.
Additionally, we have identified the students who have earned the following during the 2nd quarter. Click here for the list.
Principal's Award (4.0 GPA)
High Honors (3.75-3.9 GPA)
Honor Roll (3.5-3.74 GPA)
Overall, we are SO PROUD of the great work our students have done in the 2nd quarter!
Keep it up, Wildcats!
Student Homework Support
We have After School Academic Support available every Monday thru Thursday in the library. Students will be able to stay after school to get help from a Sandburg staff member. This after school support will run until April. Students who stay after school will be in the library from 2:20-3:50 and can take the activity bus home. If you would like to have your child stay after school for additional support, this opportunity is open to ALL students.
Additionally, we run a Lunch Time Study Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students can work quietly on school work during the lunch period with a Sandburg Staff member. Students sign themselves up for this study hall through a google form that is posted in the Wildcat Google Classroom.
