In case this is your first rodeo...
Prom is tomorrow night, from 7 - 10 pm at The Grill at Highland Lakes Golf Course here in Lago Vista...
This is such a wonderful time in a high school student's life and a memory they will keep forever. It is also a great time to speak with your teen about making good choices on this special night.
In an effort to promote prom safety, we encourage you to have these conversations with your teen:
Before the Prom: Know the plans: Ask the important questions: Who’s driving? Who’s going with you? What is the contact information? Check out his or her complete schedule for the evening.
During Prom: We will have a lot of supervision from staff members, and police officers in an effort to keep things safe. Encourage your student to share any unsafe behaviors with staff immediately.
After: Provide a safety net. Talk about their plans for handling unsafe situations. Be available to “rescue” them from unsafe circumstances with a ride, if needed. Communicate and network with other parents.
Thank you for your support in making this a night full of positive and wonderful memories!

Attendance Matters.
Our schoolwide attendance goal for this year is 97%. Our state funding is based on the percentage of students at school at 10:30 am every day. Higher attendance rate = more money for resources for your student.
For students who miss school, here is some very important attendance information:
3 or more unexcused absences in a 4 week period - warning letter sent home and phone call from the principal.
10 or more unexcused absences in a 6 month period - truancy charges are filed. Parent, student and school administrator will be summoned to appear in truancy court.
Our campus goal is to reach 97% attendance each day.
Thanks for your support!
