Robison Elementary Rocket Register
COVID-19 UPDATE #6
Message from Mrs. Gerletti
With the announcement from Governor Abbott regarding face-to-face instruction being canceled for the remainder of the year, I am saddened and heartbroken. Although we all knew this was likely to happen, the reality of not having our usual closure to the school year has left an empty feeling in many of us. Although we aren't able to welcome back our students into the building this year, we are working together to come up with a plan to recognize our fifth-grade students, and a way to have some type of closure for everyone. We certainly will abide by the orders of our state and district officials to make sure anything we do does not compromise the safety of our students, staff, and community.
We appreciate all that you are doing at home to support your students with their learning. Our teachers are working diligently to provide a focus for the week, including videos to support specific skills. We realize that everyone may not have the same opportunities at home. Some of our parents are working out of the house full time (Thank you, essential workers!), and some are limited in the number of devices or may not have internet access. Please know that our teachers are more than willing to find a way to support your every need. While there are due dates for assignments, if extra time is needed, please let your child's teacher(s) know, and they will accommodate you. For those needing access to paper packets, we will continue to distribute these on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 1 pm at Robison. If you are in need of a paper packet and did not originally request one, please let your child's teacher know so I can order one for your child(ren).
We miss our Rockets, and look forward to the day when we can all be together under one roof. Please stay safe!
