It’s my first year.

Share a little bit about your family.

I am married to Ryan Taylor, who is the head football coach at Cisco College. We have two dogs, Lucy and Loki, both are rescued dogs and they are our babies… We have also a baby boy on the way! My family lives in Brazil and I can’t wait to go visit them.


Where did you grow up (hometown)?

Brazil


If you attended or are attending college, where did you go?

I went to the University of Texas at Brownsville and Langston University.


If you are a teacher, where have you taught previously? If you are not a teacher, what other jobs have you held prior to coming to BISD?

I’ve taught at St. Gregory’s University (OK), Edmond North HS (OK), Cisco College (TX).


Describe your favorite teacher growing up.

He was my PE teacher that encouraged me to take athletics seriously and participate in club ball.


What was your favorite subject in school?

Athletics/arts


Why did you choose education as a career choice?

Education chose me… but I wanted to inspire others that had a hard life and help them understand that you can still be a good person and achieve good things despite the hard times.


What does success look like in your classroom?

Students feeling comfortable enough to commit errors without feeling that they will be heavily punished. Students are willing to try and improve every day.


What is your favorite thing about Breckenridge ISD?

Kids are involved in different sports.


What advice do you have for students?

To always show up and give their best. Someone is always watching and willing to help.


What advice do you have for parents?

Trust the process. Trust that we are here for the kids.


What advice do you have for a first-year teacher?

Take a breather and ask for help when you need it.


What is your ideal vacation spot?

Anywhere with my Husband, my dogs and my baby. But we love the mountains and also the beach.


What is your favorite quote?

I can do all things in Christ that strengthens me


What do you do in your spare time (hobbies, etc)?

Hangout with my husband & dogs, road trips, hiking, exercising…


If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Why?


I’d live anywhere where both my family and Ryan’s family would be close enough for us to enjoy each other.
