Week of April 24
Spring Sports
Congratulations to Henry Ye on qualifying for the District 1 Tennis Single's Championships by finishing in third place in the PAC championships. While Henry was defeated by a player from Unionville, Henry continues to play some of his best tennis of the year. Good luck to our doubles teams as they compete in the PAC double's championships later this week. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this week, the Track and Field team will compete in the Penn Relays, the oldest relay carnival event in the world. The event will be held at historic Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania campus. This year, in addition to the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay teams that compete annually, both the girls DMR relay team and Ian Johnson will compete in the Championship of America race for their respective events. The girls will race in a field of 15 teams from around the country, including teams from Jamaica. Ian Johnson will be racing in the 3000m and will also face elite national level competition as well. Please use this link to access information about both races Penn Relays High School Acceptances. Good luck!
Within this newsletter, please take note of the important fall dates for next school year. I am working on having St. Luke's provide sports physicals for our fall student-athletes and I will soon have the details solidified so be on the lookout for this information in future newsletters.
Sincerely,
