The land
Dallas County is in north central Texas, is bordered by Kaufman and Rockwall counties to the east, Tarrant County to the west, Denton and Collin counties to the north, and Ellis County to the south. Dallas is the county seat and largest city. Dallas County comprises 902 square miles of the primarily flat, heavy Blackland Prairie.

Dallas Zoo-
The Dallas Zoo traces its history to 1888, when the city purchased two deer and two mountain lions and placed them in pens in the City Park. In the 1890s, with the support of Dallas citizens, the City Council provided funds for the zoo, and additional animals were bought for the collection.
Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza-
The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is located in the former Texas School Book Depository where significant evidence of a sniper was found following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The Museum presents the social and political landscape of the early 1960s, chronicles President Kennedy’s assassination and its aftermath, and reflects upon his lasting impact on our country and world
Mesquite ProRodeo at Mesquite Arena-
Join us in Mesquite, TX "The Rodeo Capital of Texas" for the legendary Mesquite Rodeo located in the air-conditioned Mesquite Arena. The 2013 Mesquite ProRodeo Series kicks off May 31 and runs every Friday and Saturday night through August 24. Doors open at 6:30 pm and rodeo starts at 7:30 pm. We offer fun for the whole family. Come early for the BubbQ, to ride the mechanical bull, pony, rides, face painting and of course great rodeo action! We offer year-round events for all ages, concerts, Hispanic events, ArenaCross, and of course, rodeos!
Dallas World Aquarium-
The adventure at The Dallas World Aquarium begins at the top of the rainforest exhibit, where exotic birds, such as Cocks-of-the-rock and many species of toucans, can be seen. Lounging around are Two-toed and Three-toed sloths. Endangered animals, such as Orinoco crocodiles, Giant river otters, Antillean manatees and several species of monkeys are part of the many conservation projects. The aquarium portion displays interesting marine life, including Japanese crabs, jellyfish, Leafy, Weedy and Ribbon seadragons. Black-footed and Blue penguins can be seen swimming as guests enjoy the outdoor South Africa exhibit.
