Chats with Chatham

Harbins Family,

This week kicks off with our K, 1, and 2 Field Day and class parties on Monday. Please help us remind parents that if they are coming to visit and plan to check their children out, they must be down front by 2:00. I realize this may cut short field day for a few second graders, but if their parents are checking them out, we must have them exit prior to dismissal. All parents should be off campus by 2:15 to avoid any mishaps with dismissal. We are going to have lots going on. Keep calm and have fun.

Make sure you are attending to the items on your end of the year checklist. The building will be open again this coming weekend, with air.

We will be meeting after school again on Tuesday to follow up with our framework revisions. More details to come.

Don't forget to join us for the Retirement Celebration after school on Thursday after school!

The final countdown is on! We can do this!

It's GREAT to be a Harbins Tiger!

A fantastic video montage to inspire you these last days. You ARE the force!

Fantastic motivational teamwork montage video

The votes are in. . . what do you think?

Please begin sending the Book of Honor recipients to the front to sign the book on Thursday, April 28. If you are new to Harbins, talk with your grade level about how students' receive this award.

Chris has created a google spreadsheet where you should add your students names.

You will include last name, first name and homeroom teacher on the spreadsheet. BE SURE TO SPELL THE STUDENTS' NAMES AS YOU WOULD LIKE THEM ON THE CERTIFICATE.

Only two students should be sent per day.

The last day to add students' names to the google spreadsheet and send the students to the front lobby to sign the Book of Honor is on May 17.

Gradebook - DAs & SPGs

Reminder: SPGs DO NOT COUNT in the gradebook, but DA scores will need to be entered for 3rd grade (Sci & SS only), 4th grade (all 4) and 5th grade (all 4). Conversion charts can be found in Shared:\\Staff\\Schoolnet\\EOY DA Grade Conversions folder OR in eCLASS --> Content --> Assessment --> SchoolNet --> DA End of Year 1516.

There is a category called District Assessment (1%) for each of the grade books mentioned above. Please ensure that the score is entered in this category. Please see Christy or Chris if you have any questions.

New Gradebook - 2016-2017 School Year

After the last day of school we will be saying goodbye to our beloved PinPoint gradebook. As part of the new SIS (Student Information System) rollout, we will use the new TeacherVue gradebook. Both products are integrated with the new Synergy platform. Training will be provided during pre-planning, and there is a great preview video below. Please take a few minutes to watch the video so you can familiarize yourself with the new layout. The video (less than 3 minutes) covers taking attendance and entering grades into the gradebook. Please see your LSTC if you have any questions.

We have recently been informed that we should not allow cars to be parked on the front lawn due to certain lines underground in this area. We have blocked the areas where cars have pulled on the lawn on previous occasions.
