A MESSAGE FROM MRS. LAPLANT
As many of you know, this Thursday, November 11th, is Veterans Day. This is a day for everyone to pay our respects to those who have served our country. As one small way for our students and staff to celebrate and honor America's veterans for their patriotism, I invite everyone to wear their red, white and blue to school on Thursday.
At Country Dale, we have some students whose parents are active military members. If you would like your child to connect with other children whose parents are possibly deployed or involved with the military, we would be happy to connect them with one another. Sometimes it's helpful for children to share their stories and experiences with others who can relate. This could happen during lunch or recess time. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you are interested in having our school make these connections.

COVID-19 INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS AGES 5-11
The COVID-19 vaccines for administration for ages 5-11 were approved last week. Franklin Public Schools is partnering with Life Change Pharmacy to hold two COVID-19 vaccine clinics Tuesday, November 9th, and Thursday, November 11th from 4:30p-7p in the Commons at Forest Park Middle School. We have a few open slots still open at this time. Please CLICK HERE to sign up. If you have multiple children that you would like to sign up for the clinic, you will need to complete a new form for each child. Please note that this is the first shot of a two shot series, so your child will also need to be able to attend a clinic three weeks later to receive their second vaccine. We will continue to look to offer more opportunities like this in the future.
In order for your child to be able to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) in youth ages 5-11, the following must be completed:
Parent/guardian must review the Vaccine Information Fact Sheet
Questions 1-11 on the Vaccine Information Record form must be filled out
The Consent of Minor form must be signed
If you have any questions about whether or not to have your child vaccinated against COVID-19, please contact your child’s primary health care provider to discuss.
PTO SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR NOVEMBER 8 - 12
One change that we have for this fall to help families and students feel safer is that we are focusing on books and not offering the extra items such as toys, trinkets, posters, etc. This will help with less touching of things on tables. We will have a small selection of bookmarks and pens if students have a few leftover dollars to spend. Please communicate to your students about what to expect. Parents are also not allowed to shop the book fair in person at this time, but if you would like to do some "secret" holiday shopping, here is our book fair link!
Thank you for supporting our school by shopping at the book fair this fall!
MASK REMINDERS
As we continue to require masks for students, please remember the following:
It’s a good idea to wash your child’s mask frequently, ideally daily if possible.
Please ensure that your child has a few masks to rotate throughout the average school week
Please send an extra mask in your child’s backpack in the event they need another mask
When choosing masks for your child, please look for masks that have 2 or more layers of breathable fabric, cover their nose and mouth, fit snugly across the sides of their face, and don’t have gaps.
If you need help with getting additional masks, please contact the school’s main office.
COUNTRY DALE PARENT PICK UP REMINDER
If you plan on picking up your child from Country Dale, please read this important reminder regarding our procedure. Parent Drop Off Reminder.
