Beacon Bulletin
February 2019
Recap & Forecast
In January, our student artists worked hard to prepare for their mid-term exams, got dolled-up and let loose at Winter Ball, and showed off their artistic and academic achievements. Our theatre student artists put on a powerful performance of "Declaration" a play that explores the befores, durings and afters of a group of students whose school is faced with a mass shooting. All the proceeds from the performances went to support the March for Our Lives organization. Beacon's National Honor Society hosted their annual induction ceremony to welcome new members, and to recognize the impressive academic efforts of all the members of NHS. We are so proud of these model students.
Our Juniors put on an outstanding Arts Night, complete with delicious culinary creations, captivating theatrical performances, and intricate works of art. The night was a gleaming example of the tremendous efforts put forth by our Juniors to create and share meaningful art with the entire Beacon Community. A special thanks to our dedicated arts teachers. Ms. Moseley, Chef Illum, and Mr. LeClair, thank you for all you do!
February will be a quieter time, allowing our student artists to focus on exploring their individual interests, and to get some well deserved rest during the upcoming break. Seniors will be presenting their portfolios. Founders' National Junior Honor Society will host their induction ceremony on February 7th. Stay tuned!
