Elsie Rogers Express
End of the Year (2016)
Summer Send Off
Hard to believe that the end of the school year is upon us. As always, it comes with a mix of emotions. Certainly bitter sweet to say good bye to our 5th graders, but I can attest they are ready to move on to their next stage in life. Middle school brings additional responsibilities, yet added opportunities. I am excited to follow the paths of our ER students and know that greatness lies ahead for them. On the flip side, when I think of the metamorphosis that our Kindergarten friends have gone through, it absolutely amazes me! These little peeps entered school last August as a blank canvas. The speed at which they have learned is amazing.
Summer is a time to refuel, yet keep the learning alive. I have shared with my staff a blank summer "Bucket List." I am asking them to list 10 things they would like to accomplish this summer. I invite you and your family to do the same. Learning doesn't just occur inside the walls of a school. Think of the wonderful world around you. Tap into your child's curiosity and build some background experiences. I can assure you memories will follow!
Have a safe and happy summer.

Along with the new faces we greet, we say good bye to Chelle Hopper and thank her for her service as treasurer this past school year. She did a fabulous job budgeting the funds so that Elsie Rogers students and staff members could participate in a plethora of opportunities. I would also like to thank Jamie Demeyer for her work as the "Labels for Education" coordinator. She was responsible for submitting Elsie Rogers' name into their Sweepstakes which ultimately led to us winning $10,000 for our school. Labels for Education is discontinuing nationally, but please continue to save your Box Tops over the summer! Look for PTO information in your "Back to School" packets in August. There will be many opportunities for families to get involved!
