September Newsletter 2022

From Principal Infinger

I want to say thank you to all of our FES Families and Students for making the start of the school year a success. Our families are very important to us and look forward to the continued partnership throughout the year. Each week, your child's teacher will provide you with a newsletter to keep you up to date with activities in the classroom. Please make sure you are connected to Class Dojo so that you receive all communications. We will provide a monthly newsletter on Smore to keep you informed about upcoming events and important information. We are always here to help and support you. If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us on Dojo, Email, or by phone at 334-260-1015. We are happy to be on this journey together with you! Thank you for all that you do for our students!

FES Parents as Partners Fall Conferences

Your child's teacher should be reaching out to schedule a conference to invite you in to help us get to know the needs of your child and meet your child's teacher. We would like to meet individually with all parents by Friday, September 16th. You should have received an invitation letter with possible conference dates. Please contact your child's teacher for more information. We hope to connect with all of our FES Parents!

FES Dismissal Process

Thank you so much for downloading the PikMyKid App! We are constantly working to keep our students staff and our dismissal process as smooth as possible. Our dismissal time last approximately 20 minutes from start to finish. Our daily goal is to have all students dismissed by 3:30 p.m. Please see the reminders below:

  • Students are dismissed at 3:10 p.m.
  • Remain in your car at all times if you are in the car pool line.
  • If you want to walk up to get your child, you will need to park by the fence and walk to the west side of the building where the gated is located.
  • Harrison Road may not be blocked with cars until 3:10 p.m. to keep traffic flowing.
  • Pay attention at all times and remain patient.
  • Use the PikMyKid App to announce that you are on campus to pick up your child.

FES Letters of the Week Initiative

We are focusing on laying the foundation for our Kindergarten and 1st Grade students by teaching and reviewing their alphabet names and sounds. Please help us at home by practicing with them. We are also working on teaching them how to write their name. Some helpful links can be found below to help them along the way.

We want all of our FES Students to be able to identify all alphabet letters and sounds in random order! :)

Important Attendance Information

We expect our students to be at school on time and stay the entire school day. Please partner with us to reduce the number of days your child is absent, tardy, or checks-out.. It is important that students arrive on time and in case by 8:00 a.m. each day and remain in class until dismissal.

If your child is absent, please make sure that you send a written excuse and that the excuse gets turned into your child's teacher.

Check-outs: Check-outs end daily at 2:30 p.m. Please try to leave your child at school for the entire instructional day.

Help us reduce the number of tardies, absences, and check-outs.

We greatly appreciate your support with this matter.
