Keep it brief; write a summary, not a life history!
Use short phrases beginning with action words to demonstrate accomplishments and results
Provide positive and honest information
Use a simple, professional, easy-to-read style
Have others look it over to make sure it’s perfect
Leave off personal information such as height, weight, age, sex, marital status
Emphasize important information by underlining or using capital letters when appropriate, but don’t overdo it

How to Fill Out An Application
Prepare answers for typical questions about felonies and being dismissed
Gather other essential information such as your drivers listened and other forms to document your indenting
Prepare a list of references with each persons name, their job title or relation to you, and their contact information
Write a formal resume
If you'll be filling out applications in person, bring a couple black pens, all the information you've prepared and some blank paper
Dress in appropriate attire when asking for applications and when turning them in
