A Message From Our Principal
Greetings,
While we continue in our hybrid schedule, the winter is upon us. With snow in the forecast we look to glimmers of hope for the winter to pass us by and the spring to bring us a renewed sense of normalcy. We are already starting the third marking period on February 1. Time is flying by and with the start of the new marking period we will look to move into our rotating schedule here at the High School on Tuesday, February 9. This will give teachers one last day to meet all their classes virtually and prepare the students for the much needed change. I am a firm believer that change is good but in this case going back to what our students know, will help them in their transition, eventually, back to a normal school day. While our freshmen do not know this schedule, I am confident that with the help of their cohort teachers and our senior ambassadors, they will understand it in no time!
The time frame will remain the same, however the schedule allows more time for teaching and less class load each day. Our Monday’s will still be all virtual for now but be part of the rotation. The afternoons will be opportunities for the two classes that are dropped each day to touch base with their teachers if they have questions and still there will be opportunities for teachers to meet with students from any period for help. You will see the schedule below. My advice is to print out your schedule from the portal which now will make more sense as it is already set up for day 1 through 4.
What else is happening? EHT boys basketball is off to a great start with a win over Holy Spirit this past Tuesday. We are working on making the quality of the live stream for our sports program better, please be patient. Swimming and Indoor Track begin on Feb 1. It is exciting to see our athletes doing what they love!
In other news, our Mock Trial Team under the direction of Mr. Martirone competed in the county championships this past week. They are as impressive this year as they were last! Many of our Junior students took the PSAT test this past Tuesday and they did a great job under the conditions we were in. We put as many of the 170 students taking the test socially distanced in the auxiliary gym while the overflow was put in two classrooms. The students were amazing and we hope they excelled on this exam!
Until next week, stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Ms.Connor
