Student Drop-Off Information
New signs have been placed outside the Main Office and Gym Entrance asking parents to please drop off students at the Gym Entrance in the morning. Doing this will help alleviate the back up and morning traffic. Drivers are reminded to remain in a single car lane when dropping students off at the Gym Entrance. Also, all drivers must exit around the back of the school on to West Street. Please NO TURNS in the parking lot. DO NOT exit in the front of the school.
PSSA and Algebra I Keystone Dates
Please be aware of the following dates for state mandated testing:
PSSA Reading and Math - 7th and 8th grade - March 17 - 28
PSSA Writing - 8th grade- March 31 - April 4
PSSA Science - 8th grade - April 28 - May 2
Algebra I Keystone Exam for students currently taking 7th grade Accelerated Algebra I, 8th grade Algebra I, 8th grade Accelerated Algebra I, 9th grade Algebra I or 9th grade Accelerated Algebra - May 12 - 23.
Please make every attempt to have your child in attendance on these dates to take these assessments. Additional information will be provided the coming weeks.
The Program Planning process for course selection for the 2014-15 has begun. Students will be attending grade level assemblies to learn detailed information about the process. They will meet with teachers and guidance counselors to review recommendations and course options. Current 9th and 7th grade students will be involved in this process during the month of January. For 8th grade, the process does not begin until early in February. All students will bring home verification sheets listing course requests so parents can review and discuss these choices with their child before anything is finalized.
A few important dates to be aware of this week for 9th grade:
January 6 - 9th grade students are introduced to the high school schedule and program planning process during an assembly in school
January 9, 6:30 P.M. - Curriculum Fair at C.B. West for current 9th grade students and their parents
January 9 - 9th grade students will come home with their academic recommendations on this day. Please take this information with you to the curriculum fair so you can discuss the different academic levels with the high school faculty.
Please contact our Guidance Office if you have any questions. Again, additional information will be provided for all grade levels in the coming weeks.

January 16 - Parent Council Meeting - 9:00 A.M.
January 20 - No School - Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
January 24 - End of 2nd Marking Period - Early Dismissal From School - 10:45 A.M.
