News and Updates from FSMA
Keeping up with routines and procedures all year long...
While schedules at home are often different at this time of year because of spring sports, daylight lasting longer, and many fun weekend events, keeping routines the same (if possible) is so helpful for children (and their teachers appreciate bedtime and morning routines staying the same - wink, wink.)
A procedural reminder about dismissal:
Please remember that if your child is going home a different way, they need to bring in a note. Teachers do not always have a chance to check email before dismissal and we can not always rely on what children tell us (or remember to tell us) about after school changes. It is very important that we continue to be diligent about this until the end of the year.We are looking forward to a consistent, calm and productive last 6+ weeks of school!
Old New Castle
On Thursday, Room 17 and 19 visited Old New Castle to learn about Delaware history from settlement through Revolutionary War. They participated in a mock trial at the New Castle County Courthourse and each got to take on specific roles as they re-enacted a trial. In addition, they toured the Dutch House, the Amstel House, the Old Courthouse, and the George Read House. And, if that wasnt enough, they also enjoyed a picnic lunch on The Green and running around in the beautiful April weather. Room 16, 20, and 23 are looking forward to their trip to Old New Castle on Monday.

Earth Day
In many classrooms, recycling projects, care for our Earth, and other fun projects were the focus of Friday and we think many children will come home inspired to be better reducers, recyclers and reusers!
