Pre-School Registration and Lottery- June 17
Our preschool program is open to residents of the Manville community between the ages of three and four. Prospective students must have turned three years old before October 1 of the current school year. We offer a fully-funded program and a full-day preschool classroom. This program will provide a safe and nurturing learning environment focusing on social, motor, language, and early academic skills. Our PREK classrooms are housed at Weston School and our partner locations, HOPES Community Action Partnership and Lightbridge Academy- Somerset.
Registration for Preschool is now open, and seats are limited. A lottery for enrollment will be held on June 17, 2022. Upon receipt of the registration, including all necessary medical documentation (in digital form), your child will be considered to enter the preschool lottery within that time frame. We will randomly assign numbers to each registered student and award preschool seats until all available seats are filled. Children will be awarded seats based on the order of drawing. Any seats that remain available after the lottery will follow the order of the waitlist. You will also be notified if you are placed on the waitlist.

Grade 3 and 4 Spring Concert
On June 1st, our 3rd and 4th grade Roosevelt Colts put on a fantastic performance during the Spring Concert! In music class, our students have been learning about cultures and songs from around the world! We ended the concert with a special tribute to Mr. Longstreet, who will be retiring after 25 years of service to the Manville School District. Our very own Mrs. Fosbre rewrote the lyrics to The Beatles song - In My Life, and our students and staff sang to him:
There are places I'll remember
All our lives you helped us change
We sing and play the keyboards
We love learning new tunes and that will remain
Our School is full of music
With students and friends you see in the hall,
There is beauty when we share our magic
In our school we love them all.
Mr. Longstreet, you’re loved by all.

Manville Arts Council’s 6th Annual Art Expo
You are cordially invited to Opening Night of the Manville Arts Council's 6th Annual
Art Expo: Collective Effervescence.
Where: Manville Public Library
When: Friday, June 10
Time: 6:30-8:00pm
The inspiration for this show came about from last year's hybrid Expo event. It was a captivating show that resulted in powerful artistic connections. Expo 2022 continues to build up our creative community. Collective Effervescence is a concept coined in the early 20th century by pioneering sociologist Émile Durkheim to describe the sense of energy and harmony people feel when they come together in a group around a shared purpose.
This year, we called artists, asking them to share their joy and show the world what makes them feel 'bubbly.' We have juried an outstanding show, celebrating the extraordinary talents of 14 NJ-based artists.
Please join us as we get ready to shake the can and pop the top on Expo 2022.
YMCA Summer Camp SOAR
Camp SOAR intends to provide a Summer of Outdoor Adventure and Recreation to children from under-resourced families in Bound Brook, South Bound Brook, Manville, and Franklin Township, who were disproportionately affected by the pandemic. The main source of program funding is a grant from Somerset County, which is made available through the American Rescue Plan. Additionally, the Y is partnering with Somerset County Parks Commission to host the camp at Colonial Park, which offers a versatile setting for a myriad of enriching summer camp activities.
Camp SOAR will run daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended hour opportunities beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. The camp is designed to offer children a robust camp experience that takes advantage of the outdoor opportunities afforded at Colonial Park, as well as other experiences that the Y integrates into all of its camp programs, such as STEM, literacy, arts and crafts, sports, physical activity, team-building, social-emotional learning, and character-building activities. Additionally, transportation by bus will be available from a central location in each town to bring children to camp in the morning and back at the end of the camp day. Children participating in extended hours will need independent transportation. Monday through Friday, the camp will also provide daily meals for the children.
