Important Updates
National School Counseling Week
Please join me in acknowledging our incredible counselors, Ms. Stauffer (6th Grade), Ms. Pruess (7th Grade), and Ms. Takahashi (8th Grade). In honor of National School Counselors Week, Lincoln students expressed their love and appreciation with hand-written notes. Thank you counselors! We appreciate you!
Update on the Water at Lincoln
Yesterday, a water quality report of all tests performed during the field investigation that took place 2/7/23 between 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM was shared with me. To summarize quickly, no abnormal conditions were found and the water matched closely with supply characteristics. Bacteriological tests all were absent of growth and a healthy chloramine residual was noted at all sample sites. If you have any further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out.
Lincoln water is SAFE to drink!

Coffee and snacks will be served. Please join us!
Climate and Culture Survey
Santa Monica-Malibu School District (SMMUSD) has partnered with Hanover Research to conduct a short survey to gather input from students, staff, and parents about our school district’s climate and culture. We encourage you to share your opinions about your experiences in SMMUSD in order to inform the decisions made by school and district administrators. Please read this letter and follow the link to complete the survey.

Support for Earthquake Survivors in Turkey and Syria
Dear Lincoln family,
Let’s offer a helping hand. Following the catastrophic earthquakes that took place in Turkey and Syria, thousands of people are still under the rubble while tens of thousands have been left homeless in freezing conditions. Though we are abroad, we can provide assistance
to all the victims involved. Therefore, Lincoln Middle School will be a drop off location accepting donations for earthquake victims. If you are interested in donating, essential items needed include:
- New or good-condition blankets, jackets, warm clothes (including kids sizes)
- Baby food
- First-aid kits
- Hats, gloves, or shoes.
All donations will be taken to a local organization that will be transferred to the Turkish Consulate in Los Angeles and shipped via Turkish Airlines.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Doa Aljaljouli, daljaljouli@smmusd.org.

Reminders from Past Newsletters
Inappropriate Student Behavior/ Comportamiento Estudiantil Inapropiado
Recently we have been experiencing an increase in students “pantsing” other students on-campus. Please speak with your students about the consequences of this behavior. Any student that is caught engaging in this behavior will receive a minimum of a 2 day suspension. We are also required to complete paperwork for the District and your student’s file for sexual harassment. Middle school can be a tough time for our students as they are developing and going through puberty. Being exposed publicly on-campus is a behavior that will not be tolerated.
