ANNOUNCEMENTS
Office Remains Closed Due to COVID-19
As the spread of COVID-19 remains a national concern, Nebraska Extension continues to take several steps to help protect our clientele and our broader communities. State-wide, Nebraska Extension has canceled all in-person events from March 16-June 15. This is in line with the CDC recommendation of ‘social distancing’ that the larger UNL community is also following.
As your local partners, Gage County Extension employees are committed to continuing to reach the University of Nebraska - Lincoln's engagement mission in this unprecedented time. Please continue to follow our Facebook page and website for information related to rescheduling or alternative events.
At this time, our office is closed to the public for the safety of office staff and the broader community. Thank your for your continued support and understanding.

Eight Everyday Kitchen Surfaces to Clean and Disinfect
With many people prioritizing clean and disinfected environments, it may be a good time to give your kitchen some well-deserved attention.
While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) notes transmission of the novel coronavirus to persons from surfaces has not been documented, cleaning and disinfecting surfaces remains a best practice for preventing the spread of viral respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.
If you are looking to clean and disinfect the heart of your home, consider paying special attention to the following frequently touched, and often overlooked, surfaces.
Food Choices Today for a Better Tomorrow
On April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans took to hundreds of city streets and college campuses to raise environmental awareness and spark change.
While no city streets or college campuses were filled with activists yesterday to mark 50 years since this pivotal event, earthday.org flooded the digital landscape with livestream discussions, calls to action, digital teach-ins and more.
The theme this year was global climate action. And while we’re all currently consumed by another global issue—COVID-19—there are plenty of small, local actions you can take today for a better tomorrow.

Projects will continue to be cleared from 4HOnline annually. Project history per member can be found under Member Reports in your family account. Call the Extension Office if you have questions.
Camp Renegade and Camp Venture Canceled
The decision has been made to cancel both Camp Renegade and Camp Venture. We know how much kids love and learn from our local 4-H camps held each summer - Camp Renegade and Camp Venture. We are so sorry not to host kids at these events in June. These are nature based, outdoor activities - we hope you incorporate these elements in the learning that kids are experiencing this spring and summer.
