VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE!
We are excited to be able to offer a few opportunities for our parents/families to volunteer in the Copy Room and Library for the last grading period! In order to ensure the safety of all of our families and staff, these opportunities will be limited to those volunteers who sign up at the link below.
1. All volunteers must have completed the CISD Volunteer by visiting here.
2. Please sign up for only one slot, to allow as many volunteers to serve as possible.
- Library volunteers will assist the Librarian with checking in Library books, shelving, and inventory. Prior school Library volunteer experience is necessary for this position, since we will not be able to provide training. Slots will be added for May at a later date.
- Copy Room volunteers will make copies and laminate materials for staff members. Prior Copy Room experience is preferred; we cannot provide training on how to use the copier. If you have volunteered in another school making copies, this copier is the same as other schools.
3. Volunteers must adhere to all District and Campus guidelines relating to health and safety, including prescreening, mask wearing, and no contact with students.
4. Only the volunteer that signs up may enter the building. We cannot accommodate children or other visitors at this time. We have limited the slots to one volunteer per shift, to ensure social distancing guidelines are followed.
Please call 936-709-5000 with any questions.

District Dress and Grooming Standards Reminder
As the weather gets warmer, we would like to remind families of the Dress and Grooming Standards as set forth by CISD. The full standards can be found in the District Elementary and Intermediate Student Handbook, specifically on page 15 at the link here:
Below, please find a portion of the standards:
No Deliveries of Forgotten Items at This Time
As the weather gets warmer, please be sure to send a labeled water bottle to school with your child. This will ensure that our students stay hydrated throughout the day. Each grade level does have a limited supply of water if a student forgets their water bottle.
-Eye glasses are the exception. If a student forgets their glasses, please label them with the child's name and section number. When arriving on campus with the glasses, please use the call button to the right of the front center doors, and someone will assist you.
-If a student forgets their lunch, they can purchase or charge a lunch from the cafeteria.
-If a student forgets their water bottle, each grade level has bottles of water for students. Please email the teacher, and they will get your child a bottle of water.
-For forgotten homework or other class work, please contact the teacher and make arrangements for the student to turn it in the next school day.
**Please label your student's personal water bottles! If a bottle is left somewhere in the school, and it has the student's name on it, it can easily be returned to the student.

2021-2022 CISD School Calendar
We thank you in advance for planning all vacations and travel outside of the school calendar. When students are absent, they miss valuable instruction that takes place daily. In addition to the loss of that instructional time, Texas schools are rated not only on academic performance, but also on student attendance. Daily attendance plays a large role in our accountability rating from the state.
We appreciate your support in this matter, and look forward to a great school year!
COVID-19 Positive Case Reporting for Both Remote and In-Person Students
Even if your student is a remote learner, it is important for us to have a report of the positive case for your child, because the District includes students who are in remote/online instruction in the isolated and quarantined numbers. Remote/online students often participate in extracurricular activities, and we want to make sure to include these students in our isolation/quarantine tracking system. Additionally, it allows us to have a clearer picture of neighborhood and community trends.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the above email address.
Thank you,
Katy Riggs, RN
A Change of Clothes and Mask
Accidents happen, and a change of clothes is a good idea in the event of a spill, fall in the mud, or other accident. The clinic does not have a supply of clothes for students to use this year.
Also, masks may get soiled at lunch, recess, or specials. Please pack an extra mask with your student's extra change of clothes.
A Message from the School Nurse
If your student will need to take medications during school hours, please complete the medication permission form below, and submit either via email or in person when dropping off the medications. Please note many of the over the counter medications will require a physician signature this year. Due to social distancing, medication drop-off will be by appointment only and the school nurse will meet you on the front porch to check in medications. Please email the school nurse at kriggs@conroeisd.net to schedule the appointment. Thank you!
Take care,
Katy Riggs, RN

Important Car Rider Information
We are asking for your help with the following procedures that will keep our car line moving, and keep everyone safe:
- Please do not arrive earlier than 3:00 p.m. to line up for the car rider line. Our dismissal begins promptly at 3:10 p.m., and runs smoothly with all cars processed through the car line by approximately 3:25. Arriving closer to our dismissal time will help with the flow of traffic on Cochran's Crossing Drive.
- Do not make U-turns on Cochran's Crossing Drive or in the adjacent neighborhoods. It is not safe for pedestrians or other drivers.
- Do not obstruct the sight line for drivers exiting their neighborhoods. The police have placed cones on both sides of the entrance to Hayden's Run and Wyndspire to protect the sight line. Use caution and check traffic in all directions when driving in this area.
- Be courteous and patient
- Day care and students requiring extra time to load cars will be processed first in the car-line. These individuals and companies have received specific directions from the school.
- If your child needs assistance buckling their seat belt, please pull forward and to the side after loading before assisting your child.
- Use of cell phones is prohibited in a school zone and subject to a $200 fine.
Your assistance with this request is greatly appreciated. We want to keep everyone happy, healthy, and safe!
