PTO News
Big News!
Besides having a fantastic community️, we have even more to be thankful for this year! School’s Out Washington and the Washington State Department of Commerce have awarded Mountlake Terrace Elementary Parent Teacher Organization a Washington Youth Development Nonprofit Relief Fund grant of $10,000.
The Washington Youth Development Nonprofit Relief Fund was made possible by the CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act) and was led by School’s Out Washington working closely with the Washington State Department of Commerce. We are so excited to share this with the community.

There will be no PTO meeting in December. See you in January!
MTE Scholastic Book Fair - DEC. 1 - DEC. 14
Our Book Fair is online! Support our school and help your child discover new books, favorite characters, complete series, and more! You'll love the fun new option to shop for Book Fair exclusives directly from the interactive booklist and enjoy free shipping on book-only purchases over $25.
School Photos
We were hoping to have a photo day at school in December, but were required to cancel it due to COVID. We do hope to reschedule a photo day in the spring. More information regarding yearbooks will also come in the spring. If you have already taken photos at Kids Photography, those photos will be used for the composite class photos (unless you do retakes). Kids Photography does both our school photos and yearbooks.
Kids Photography is holding two more days of photos at their office in December on Wednesday, December 9th and Saturday, December 12th. It's a safe, open space for photos and appointments are spaced out so there are no crowds.
Below is a link you can use to sign up. You do not need to purchase photos, but can if you wish. If you just want to be photographed for the class composite/yearbook or have already purchased photos but didn't make it to previous photo days, at the bottom of the form, in the OFFICE CODE box please enter retake and you will not be charged.

The i-Ready team will share ideas for motivating learners, monitoring progress, and supporting children when they need assistance. Finally, tips and resources will be shared to support families in preparing for the next i-Ready Diagnostic assessment.

Online books available to students and families
Attention kids and caregivers!
Do you know we have access to a classroom library digitally? As part of our recent reading curriculum adoption we have invested in building a digital classroom library specific to each grade level. You can find it on Clever!
Click here to learn how to use this great resource! More books will be added throughout the year.
Fun fact - the video's closed captioning feature can be used so families can access the information in a variety of languages!
