Reader's Workshop

The students have chosen a mystery chapter book to read "suspiciously". We are learning the strategies that good mystery readers use to solve mysteries. We are making a list of suspects, collecting clues and trying to figure who committed the crime. Ask your third grader what mystery they selected to read and who the main detective is.

The focus of our math instruction next week will be to persevere through problem-solving. We will be cracking codes and solving multi-step problems using the operations we have learned throughout the year.

Don’t forget to take a 5-10 minutes each day to practice their facts. The end of the year is quickly approaching and students MUST KNOW THEIR FACTS 0-10! Check out the site below for a list of different ways to practice facts.

Writer's Workshop

Students will choose to write one final writing piece of their choice throughout the week. They will go through the brainstorming, revising, editing and publishing process from now until the end of the year.

There will be no homework the remainder of the year. PLEASE continue to have your students practice their math facts and read at home regularly.
