Australia's first Olympic gold medallist
Winter Olympics 2002
At the Winter Olympics 2002 in Salt Lake City Steven Bradbury won a gold medal, he wasn't the fastest skater. He fell behind everyone and he was still coming last at the final lap until everyone fell over and Steven Bradbury crossed the finish line. Before receiving his gold medal he had a minute to think. He wasn't sure he deserved a gold medal. He decided to take the gold medal and become Australia's first gold medallist. He had been to four Olympic games and didn't believe he had ever preformed to the best of his ability.
