Staff Council Member Reflections
As the Council heads towards our final months of our inagural term we wanted to take time to share our experience!
Kathleen Gilbert, Business Manager | Business Services – SSW
- How many years have you served on the council? 1.5 years
- What Subcommittees did you serve on?
- Community Engagement (which leads the Council Food Drive Initiative)
- What was the most rewarding part of serving on the council?
- Meeting and collaborating with people from the school that I would not normally cross paths with in my daily role. Joining the Council has afforded me exactly what I hoped it would: I feel more connected to the school and it's mission, and I have met and worked with really knowledgeable and passionate people who are trying to make the community a better place.
- What would you say was the most challenging part?
- Finding a way to meaningfully contribute while not having a background in Social Work.
- What is your hope for the next group of council members?
- That they continue to promote and offer all the wonderfully diverse programs that I feel this Council does such an excellent job of presenting.
Simone Snyder, University-Wide Faculty & Staff Training and TA Coordinator | REV – SSW
