Tracy Curry: Kindergarten

My name is Tracy Curry and I am very excited to be joining the Kindergarten team at Santa Margarita this year! My family and I just moved to the San Diego area this summer from the Southern Oregon Coast where I taught 1st grade for the past 7 years. In my free time I love spending time with my husband and two daughters, who are going into 6th and 8th grade this year.

I enjoy going to the beach, swimming, shopping, and lots of coffee. :)

Holly Osborn: Transitional Kindergarten

My name is Holly Osborn and I am excited to be teaching TK at Santa Margarita! I am a

California native and grew up locally in San Diego County. I am married and have two young

sons who keep me super busy! In my free time I enjoy going places with my family. A couple of

my favorite places are the Safari Park and Sea World because I love animals and being

outdoors. I also like to travel and explore new places whenever possible!

OUSD Dog Policy

OUSD has a policy prohibiting dogs on campus. While we recognize that our four legged friends are part of your family, we ask you to please be mindful of students or family members that may be allergic or have a fear of dogs. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Volunteers and Subs Wanted!

OUSD and Santa Margarita have many opportunities for our community members to be involved. We are excited to be welcoming family members back to campus as classroom/special event volunteers. There are different types/levels of volunteers. Please see the attached flyer.

OUSD is always looking for substitutes for certificated (teacher) and classified (duty supervisor, classroom aide, etc.) positions. For more details visit EdJoin for classified or certificated job openings.

Drop-off and Pick-up

Your child's safety is our utmost priority. In an effort to maintain that safety and keep a continuous flow for our drop-off and pick-up we ask that you keep the following in mind:
  • Pull all the way forward to allow for the maximum amount of cars to drop-off or pick-up
  • Have your child's backpack and other items in easy reach for a quick exit from the vehicle
  • If you are walking a student to the gate, please park in the lot and escort them across
  • Students should exit the passenger side of the car or be escorted by an adult
  • Be aware of pedestrians crossing from the parking area to sidewalk

Thank you for your consideration when dropping off and picking up your students.

Safety Information

The Oceanside Unified School District is committed to maintaining safe and secure campuses in order to promote the health, and well-being of our students, families, and staff. The following prevention practices are in place to support the safety and security of our school.

  • In September, all of our staff will participate in an Active Assailant training where we will learn and practice response protocols for keeping our students safe in the unlikely situation involving an armed intruder.
  • Our school regularly practices disaster and evacuation drills with our students and staff, including a minimum of two lockdown drills per year.
  • Our school has the support of the Provost Marshall Office (PMOs) who provide a police presence, are regular visitors on our campus, and who will respond to any safety issues that arise at any of our schools.
  • Our school has the Raptor Visitor Management System which tracks all visitors or volunteers entering campus. Authorized visitors are then presented with a clearly marked identification badge.
  • Our school has a comprehensive Crisis Response Plan that is reviewed annually with all staff, and placed in all classrooms, that details how to safely respond to specific emergency situations.
