Word From The Woods
Bishop Woods Newsletter January 8, 2023
Hello Bishop Woods Family!
This is Ms. Crisci with your weekly updates.
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend with family and friends.
Our goals for the remainder of the year is to reset, reflect and to increase family participation.
We just completed our first week of the new year and for the next couple of weeks we will be reviewing schoolwide and classroom rules, procedures, cell phone and dress code policies. Parents, we need your help with reviewing the above policies with your child and letting them know the importance of following rules, and what you say will make a difference
Remember you are their first and most important teachers. Research tells us that parent and caregiver involvement makes a big difference in a child’s education and is a key factor in their success. No matter how small the task, the little bit of encouragement or time spent with our children can be strong and enduring. Bishop Woods invites all parents and caregivers to become part of our community by participating in school events, joining the PTO, and/or participating in our monthly SPMT meetings. Together we can make a difference.
We want all of you to enjoy the rest of this school year with your child as you learn together in a shared partnership of cooperation, communication and caring. If the following steps are followed, you will be pleased to see how much your child has learned—We guarantee it!
• Participate in your child's learning
• Accept only the best your child can do
• Read to your child every night
• Exemplify those behaviors you would like your child to have
• Nurture a positive attitude in your child that he or she can learn
• Talk to your child and listen.
• Snuggle. Have you hugged your child today?
Lastly, We stress the importance of attendance. Research shows a direct correlation between high achievement with high attendance rates. Please ensure that your child attends school everyday and on time.
-This week on Tuesday, Jan. 10th, our kindergarten class will be attending a puppet show.-
-On Thursday, the classes below will have outdoor learning. Please have children dress accordingly.
