First Day(s) Details

School Supply Drop-off (Tuesday, August17)

Families may drop-off school supplies at the school between 4pm and 5:30pm. This is not a "meet & greet" opportunity with teachers, but rather the chance to make the first day of school run more smoothly and lighten the load for our students as they come back.

If you will be dropping off supplies, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Be sure that your child's name and grade level are clearly marked on the bag(s) you drop-off. Pre-K families should indicate whether their child is in the 3-year-old or 4-year-old classroom.
  • Enter the school building via the front entrance.
  • Masks must be worn inside the building.
  • Proceed directly to the cafeteria where tables will be labeled for specific grade levels and place the school supplies at the appropriate table.
  • We ask that parents/guardians do not spend unnecessary time in the building in order to cut down on congestion. If you would like to converse, please do so outside of the building.

1st Day of School (Thursday, August 19)

We will be having a "happy new year" party to ring in our new school year. Each grade-band (Pre-K, K-2, 3-5, and 6-8) will have the opportunity to "count down" to the new year and enter the building together.

Parents are welcome to witness our party so long as the following guidelines are followed:

  • Parents must park on the street or utilize the church parking lot if it is available. The guest parking spots and the parking lot on the south side of the building are off limits unless needed for medical reasons.
  • The wearing of masks is strongly encouraged.
  • Please remain away from the circle driveway because there will be other parents dropping their children off. Teachers will need enough space to be sure that students are safely exiting their vehicles.
  • Once your child has entered the building, we ask that you begin to return to your vehicle. No parents will be allowed inside the building.

Thursday is also a scheduled "early-release day" for our school. This means that students will have lunch at school, but dismissal will occur earlier than normal.

  • Pre-Kindergarten students will begin dismissal at 1:15pm and must be picked-up by 1:30pm.
  • Kindergarten - 2nd grade students will begin dismissal at 1:25pm and must be picked-up by 1:45pm.
  • 3rd grade - 8th grade students will begin dismissal at 1:30pm and must be picked-up by 1:45pm.

It is important to remember that there will be no Aftercare provided on either of the first two days of school.

2nd Day of School (Friday, August 20)

The school day will begin promptly at 8:00am. Teachers will form class lines and bring their classes into the building one at a time.

Please Follow these Drop-off Procedures:

  • Do not park in the circle drive or guest parking spaces.
  • Please do not block or "double-park" other vehicles in the circle drive.
  • If you need to walk your child to our front entrance area, please park on the street or utilize the church parking lot. Parents are strongly encouraged to wear a mask if they exit their vehicle.
  • All students should be in their class lines with their teacher by 7:55am.

Early Morning Supervision

Teachers, Aides, or other school personnel will provide supervision outside or inside (weather pending) until the school day begins.

  • Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten students should not be dropped-off prior to 7:45am unless there is also an older sibling attending the school.
  • 1st grade through 8th grade students may be dropped off no earlier than 7:30am.

Back to School Documentation

As an accredited school in the state of Illinois, there is a lot of information that we must keep on file for both the safety and wellness of our students as well as the effective communication and operation of the school.

All families must complete the "Back to School Packet 2021" Google Form by Friday, August 20. Those who do not complete the forms may not be allowed to return to school until the proper documentation is complete.

School Lunch and Aftercare

Lunchtime at School

Food Service Professionals (FSP) will again be providing our lunches. Due to federal and state Covid-19 funding, all lunches will continue to be free for the the 2021-22 school year. Should your family wish to utilize this service please click on this link to visit FSP's website. There you can sign-up your child and indicate which lunches you want provided over the next few weeks.

Students are also allowed to bring their own lunches to school. It is important to remember, however, that we are a nut-free school and that any snacks and lunches not contain nuts or nut products. We thank you for considering the health and safety of our students with this consideration.

Aftercare / Extended Day Program

Aftercare will be provided beginning Monday, August 23. Students will be looked after from the end of the school day until 6:00pm and will be provided one snack. The cost for these services is $5 per hour.

In order to utilize these services, families must sign-up and pay for them the week prior. To do this, please click on this link to the MyProcare App. On this website, you will arrange your hours and payments. If you are not already in the system, you will need to contact our office at so that we can get your email attached to the St. Stan's account.

Parent Volunteers Needed

As a small school community we rely heavily on the generosity and support of parents not just financially, but through the gift of your time as well. The Archdiocese has relaxed restrictions on parent volunteers for the 2021-22 school year and I want to encourage parents to consider giving some of your time to assist our support staff and teachers in making our school run as efficiently as possible.

Some areas of assistance include, but are not limited to:

  • Lunch Room supervision
  • Playground supervision
  • Office management
  • Marketing
  • Fundraising

If you would like to help our school become the best place it can be through the gift of your time, please click on this link and let us know what you might be interested in doing. I thank you in advance for any little bit you can do.

COVID-19 Guidance from the Office of Catholic Schools

Teachers will not be doing "health checks" at the start of each school day. As such, it is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to be sure that your child does not come to school exhibiting any signs or symptoms of Covid-19. This must be done to ensure that we can continue to have a safe and productive learning environment. St. Stanislaus Kostka Academy will continue to follow the guidance of the Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Catholic Schools.

Please click on this link to view the message sent to parents by the Archdiocese a few weeks ago. Below, you will find some general information on the guidance that we received and will be following as long as necessary. (Click the images to enlarge them)

Sangria Festival 2021

We are in need of volunteers!

This annual festival is a great opportunity for you to either volunteer or attend for the following reasons:

  • Makes our school more visible in the community
  • A portion of the proceeds go to support the school's academic programs
  • You can have some learn, unwind, and have a little fun!

If you are interested in volunteering for the event, please contact Kelli Battaglia at or Vanessa Barrios at
