Our 2nd grade ELLs are amazing! They have been reading fables and figuring out the moral of the story while helping each other! We have been discussing the consequences of the characters’ actions and figuring out alternative endings to the fables! What a great crew!
Our Wonders unit focused on Immigration and the 3rd graders learned the hardships of immigrating to a new land and making new friends. We are developing our vocabulary and are working on expanding our ideas, making predictions and supporting our responses with text evidence.
The 4th grade group has been reviewing adjectives, nouns and verbs while reading fables and figuring out the author’s message. We have been having awesome conversations regarding the author’s message and rationalizing the characters’ actions and consequences of their choices.
Our 5th grade ELLs have reading and identifying the main idea and details of the passages while making connections to their background knowledge; using their schema to contribute to class discussions.
