There is always something to be thankful for!
Meadow Wood Student Council News
The Student Council helps promote a sense of community and school spirit at Meadow Wood. In addition, the Council plans and assists in the implementation of school wide service projects and support our school wide character education initiative.
The representatives were selected from each fourth and fifth grade homeroom through a process involving classmates and teacher input. Current fifth graders that served on the Student Council last year continue to serve this year. The following students were selected for having satisfactory grades and conduct, following the Eagle SOAR Guidelines, and are seen as role models to others. It is going to be a fun filled, productive year with this creative group!
Fourth Grade representatives: Stephanie K., Kayla S., Sebastian P., Jocelyn M., Kenny W., Madison G., Alishba S., Caroline Z., and Avery J.
Fifth Grade returning Student Council Representatives are: Anna C., Jazmine W., Tas D., Aaron D., Emerson B., Blake B., Angela P. and Myles G.
New 5th grade representatives: Orion B., Edwin G., Thomas P., Selma E., Gavin M., Hunter B., Ben P., Javier D. and Sarina B.
International Festival and Family Fun Night
On Tuesday, 23 January 2018 Meadow Wood Elementary will host its International Festival and Family Fun Night. This wonderful event is a celebration of our school's rich cultural diversity. It provides an opportunity for students and families to both share and learn about the cultures and customs of various countries.
During the event, students will be issued passports and be able to visit booths where they can sample food and learn about a country's language, history, geographical location, flag and much more. There will also be games and fun filled activities that are sure to delight everyone.
To make this event a success we need your help. We are inviting parents to showcase a country of their choosing. If you are interested in doing so, please contact Keisha Barnes at ksbarnes@gmail.com.
