The Hoot Owl

It is recommended that backpacks be washed or spayed with something prior to returning to school. Backpacks are carriers of all kinds of germs.

School starts at 8:00 a.m. and students are considered tardy at 8:01 a.m. Traffic patterns are random so please plan accordingly so that your child is at school on time.

Doors to the building open at 7:35 am. Do not drop off students prior to 7:35. If you child eats breakfast, they need to be at school no later than 7:45 in order to provide time for them to eat.

Transportation changes need to be sent to the teacher at the beginning of the day. Please ensure that you give the teacher ample time to read email to ensure the change can be made. For emergency changes, you can contact the front office prior to 2:30 p.m.

If you need to pick up your child early from school, you must be at the school no later than 2:45 p.m. We will not pull a child to leave until you arrive.

Our check in system will be purged over the holidays so please make sure you bring your license with you to check in. We will be starting fresh in January and will need it to enter the building.

Medications must be hand delivered and signed in to the nurse. Do not send medication to the nurse via your child.

Upon return, the weather will turn colder (we hope). Please make sure and label all jackets with your child's name. We make a great donation yearly to the clothing bank because we have jackets no one claims.

If your child has lost a jacket, please make sure they check the lost and found. The items left in December will be donated in mid-January.

Upon return on Wednesday, please remember these very important tips to help keep our car rider line in the morning and afternoon running smoothly and keep all our Owls safe.

*Parents are encouraged to go through the car rider line instead of parking and walking students in. If you choose to park, you must walk them to the door. The parking lot is not a drop off location.

*Students must enter through the front doors of the school. Therefore, students may not be dropped off near the fourth grade building.

*Remember that you are in a school zone in our driveway and therefore, it is against the law to be on your cell phone. Take this time to wish your child a good day.

*If you arrive and there is already a line formed, but a space between cars, please do not cut into that space. Typically spaces are left for parking spaces or the back parking lot access.

*To enter the car rider line from the feeder road, you need to go to Oak Ridge School Road, turn right and enter that direction. The entrance from our driveway to turn right will be blocked to ensure that folks enter the line the from the correct location.

*Parents may not park and walk up to get their child. You must remain in the car rider line in order to pick up your child.

*Again, remember this is a school zone and cell phone use is prohibited.

*If you arrive and there is already a line formed, but a space between cars, please do not cut into that space. Typically spaces are left for parking spaces or the back parking lot access.
