CHARACTER TRAIT OF THE MONTH -- RESPONSIBILITY

Every month, Orchard Hill focuses on one of the Six Pillars of Character. We emphasize this trait all month long and then recognize those Hawks at our month end assembly that exhibited this trait the best. This month we are focusing on RESPONSIBILITY.

Do what you are supposed to do. Persevere, keep on trying! Always do your best. Use self-control. Be self-disciplined. Think before you act - consider the consequences. Be accountable for your choices.

BEEF & CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER

This Friday, January 10th, we will kick off our most profitable fundraiser ever! Students can sell assorted Hershey's chocolate bars and/or Tillamook beef sticks. Both are fantastic products that sell themselves. Hershey's chocolate will sell for $2 each and beef sticks are only $1 each. Orchard Hill earns 50% of all sales!

Any student that wants to participate must have a signed permission form on file (see below to download or they are also available in the office).

LOVE OF READING - January 23rd

WHEN: January 23rd from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

WHERE: Orchard Hill Elementary

Families are invited to attend a fun evening at Orchard Hill. All the activities are designed to celebrate our love of reading! As in years past, students and family members are able to pick out free books, enjoy a treat, make some crafts, play games and listen to stories.

JUST IN CASE....

As cold weather starts rolling in during the winter months, we want to make you aware of our procedures should school need to be cancelled. When there is a school closure due to inclement weather, parents/guardians will be contacted by phone and/or text through our automated notification system. You may also tune into the radio or local TV stations beginning at 6:30 a.m. or check the district website at www.phoenix.k12.or.us. Please be aware that in the event of a snow day, staff are not required to report for work. There will not be anyone in the office to answer the phones if you try to call. As always, please make sure we have current contact phone numbers on file.
