As you prepare for summer break, please start organizing the take-home materials that you picked up earlier in the year. The following two slides show pictures of some of the Fundations materials and Math Kits. These items as well as student chromebooks, hotspots and library books can be dropped off at school Friday, May 28th for In-Person students (please bring your device and charger). Virtual students may drop off on Tuesday June 1st or Wednesday June 2nd.
There are many parts, and we understand that over the semester things have been moved around, lost, or damaged. As much as possible, please return all the math materials in the kits provided in January. As well, all the non consumables of Fundations need to be returned Friday, May 28th for In-Person students and Virtual students may drop off on Tuesday June 1st or Wednesday June 2nd.

2nd Grade Celebration
2nd Grade Parents,
WE are excited to celebrate the accomplishments of your children. WE're sad to see them leave us, but WE know they will be great at F.A.V.E. and we're sending them on in such a fantastic way. After surveying parents, meeting with 2nd grade teachers, PTA, and our SLT, we have planned a grand celebration for our scholars.
Second grade students are leading and End of the Year Community Circle video to share with the school and community! Additionally, a beautiful congratulatory backdrop will be on display for May 26th & 27th days so that parents can come to WE and take pictures with their 2nd grader.
The team is so excited to have this opportunity to send our students on with a big smile. Our students have earned it!

Orchestra Program at Talley and Fifth Avenue Elementary School
I am the orchestra director at Renfroe and we are beginning to think about recruitment for our Talley and Fave orchestras. I know we are coming down to the wire with the end of the year, but is it possible to include a blurb about orchestra for rising 3rd grade students?
Orchestra Program at Talley and Fifth Avenue Elementary Schools
The extra-curricular orchestra program is open to all rising 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who wish to learn to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass. The program offers Beginning classes that meet two mornings before school each week. Intermediate classes are offered after school for students who have had one year or more group instructions or private lessons. All orchestra classes will start in September. For more information, please email the Program Coordinator.

Extra Mile Award
Hey students! Do you know a teacher or other employee who has gone the extra mile this year? Nominate them for the Extra Mile Award! The Extra Mile Award is an annual award that allows students to show their appreciation for the teachers or staff they feel go above and beyond what is expected of them. Students (not parents) at any grade level can write an essay describing how their teacher (or staff member) goes the extra mile (parents can help younger children write the essay). The essays should be detailed and describe how the teacher or staff member goes above and beyond.
Submit your nominations using this link: https://forms.gle/SehMw6njfL9we3MZ9. The deadline for submissions is May 26.
Thank you to Decatur Education Foundation for sponsoring this award!

Now’s the Time to Step Up for Teachers!
Take a break from the mayhem of May and show your teachers how much you appreciate their hard work with a Step Up for Teachers tribute. Just go to www.stepupforteachers.com, make a $25 donation and leave your tribute.
