Red Hawk Update
September 5, 2022
From The Principal
September 5, 2022
Welcome back Red Hawks! We are ready to welcome all Freshman on Tuesday, September 6 for our Freshman Frist Day event. Thank you to all of the student LINK Leaders who have been in the building training and preparing for FFD.
New students in grades 10 - 12 are welcome to attend optional new student orientation on Tuesday, September 6 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Students should enter for orientation at the main entrance at 134 East Middle Turnpike.
The first day of school for all students is Wednesday, September 7. The schedule for Wednesday will follow periods 1 - 6. All students should be in the building heading to period 1 by 7:25 am. Seniors without a period 1 class or juniors with late arrival should be in the building by 8:25 in order to be on time for 8:30 class.
Please note that seniors making use of open campus may only enter the building through the front door or student lot entrance at the passing time between periods. Students entering the building at any other time must use the main entrance.
Please note that students will not be permitted to receive food delivery at school from Grubhub, Doordash, Ubereats etc. Our security team will not be permitting visitors to campus for these deliveries and food that is left at school will be thrown away. Breakfast and lunch are provided to all students free of charge.
All students will receive a paper copy of their new schedule when they get to period 1 on Wednesday and lists of period 1 classes will be available upon entrance.
From the first day of school it is important that students are present in class each day to best learn the course content and to avoid losing credit in a course due to attendance. The threshold for losing credit is 5 absences for a half year course and 10 absences for a full year course.
We are looking forward to a school year filled with growth, challenge and fun and we know that returning to school is a big transition. Please reach out to your Assistant Principal, School Counselor or me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Katelyn Miner
