Progress Reports

Your student received a printout of his/her grades on Friday. Please ask for the printout and review it with your student. We are halfway through second trimester. Trimester 2 ends Friday, March 1.

Cyberbullying and Online Safety Education Assemblies and Family Presentation

On Thursday, January 31, each grade level will have a presentation from the San Diego Police Department on cyberbulling and online safety. We are also offering a presentation for the families in our gym at 7:00 pm that evening. Here is a brief description of the presentation:

The Internet is an amazing place where kids like to spend lots of time socializing and exploring. Unfortunately, they often encounter too much too soon. The San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (SD-ICAC) and the San Diego Police Foundation are providing tools to help families manage their online lives. Learn about cyberbullying, social networking, gaming, sexting, and online predators and pornography.

Interim SBAC Tests

The teachers have spent the last two weeks analyzing the data from right before break of the interim SBAC tests that the students took in math and language arts. We will send home printouts this week with your student's score. The report doesn't go into detail, but shows if a student is below standard, nearly met standard, met standard, or is above standard. If you want more detail you can reach out to your child’s teacher.

VIP Lounge

The sixth graders joined us at lunch in the library this past Wednesday for our first ever VIP lounge. They socialized, played games, and enjoyed special treats. Students who grew 2+ levels on their STAR reading in November or tested at or above grade level were invited. We will hold an event for the qualifying seventh graders this Wednesday and eighth graders this Thursday.
