March Newsletter
Principal's News
As we close out the third nine weeks and prepare for Spring Break, we thank you all for your continued support. The APEX Fun Run was a great success. Our volunteers made a successful Fun Run possible. We saw many smiling parents and grandparents supporting our students during their field days. We had volunteers arrive daily which made our Book Fair a fun experience for the students. Your continued support makes BCE a great place for students to learn.
Please take some time for yourselves this week. And while we hope our students read and participate in the Spring Challenge (info below), be sure to let them be kids and have fun as well. We enter the testing season when we return, with our first FSA tests beginning the first week of April. We will share the specifics very soon.
All the best,
Mr. Hodges

East Lake Rotary Club's Student of the Month
As Blake’s teachers, Mrs. Hickman and Ms. Smith are delighted to recognize Blake Barnes as BCE’s East Lake Sunrise Rotary Club Student of the Month for March! Blake consistently shows commitment to character throughout school, whether that be in the classroom, at specials, or extracurricular activities. Day in and day out, Blake arrives to school well prepared and with a positive attitude. Blake takes pride in all activities he takes part in at BCE: National Elementary Honor Society, safety patrol, chorus, and guitar. As a safety patrol for first and second semester, Blake takes this responsibility very seriously, reporting to his post on time and eager to carry out his duties. This eagerness to be helpful and responsible carries through the remainder of the school day. Whether it be in the classroom, at specials/recess, or the many extracurricular activities he participates in, Blake is always willing to offer a helping hand. In addition to Blake's school activities, he is also on a soccer team and is an alter server at church. His genuine enjoyment for helping others extends beyond BCE to the greater community, as Blake is always volunteering to help neighbors and family with yard work, fixing things, or walking the neighbor's dog. He loves spending his time in the outdoors, especially climbing trees. Blake is an outstanding citizen who is a leader, positive role model, and a Bobcat who truly R.O.A.R.S.! Way to go, Blake!
