8th Grade Awards Ceremony- May 16 | 6:00 pm | PWSH Gym
Dear 8th Grade Families,
Please join us for a special awards assembly on Monday, May 16 in the Plano West Senior High Gym. Completion of middle school is a special time and we would like to recognize all 8th grade students for their achievements at Robinson and celebrate their transition to high school.
Please have students arrive between 5:30 and 5:45 to line up in alphabetical order before we proceed to the ceremony in the large gym. Students who arrive late will receive their awards at the conclusion of the ceremony. Dress required is semi-formal (dresses, skirts, slacks). No jeans, sweats, or shorts please.
We look forward to celebrating our Robinson 8th graders with you!
Sincerely,
Eighth Grade Teachers and Administration
ID Badge Reminders
All Robinson students are required to wear an ID badge during the school day. Student ID badges increase the level of safety on our campus and allow us to quickly identify students and identify unauthorized individuals more efficiently. Students also use their ID badge to purchase food in the cafeteria and in the library to check out books and materials.
Please remind your student to wear their badge daily as we reinforce the expectation at school. If your student has lost their ID badge, they may purchase a new one for a $5.00 fee in the library.
Dress Code Reminders
Here are some important dress code reminders:
- Caps, hats and raised hoods are not to be worn inside the building.
- Sleepwear is not to be worn at school. Pajama pants are not permitted.
- Chest, midriff, and buttocks should be covered at all time. Crop tops are not permitted.
Message from Nurse Haley
Please keep this in mind, and if your student starts showing any Covid-like symptoms such as coughing, fever, congestion, a headache that lasts a few days, body aches or stomach aches, please let me know and have them see by their doctor to rule out Covid. I can also help you find a clinic that provides testing or help you make an appointment for your child to be tested by the school district. If your student tests positive for Covid, please let me know right away so I can speak with you about school district requirements regarding quarantining and making a plan for their school work. All positive results need to be sent to me to be documented. If your child tests positive for COVID-19, please fill out this form. My office number is 469-752-6209 and my email is Haley.Burr@pisd.edu. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you,
Nurse Haley
Dallas Care Van
If your student still needs to get any immunizations, the Dallas Care Van will be holding a clinic on Tuesday, May 10th from 5pm-7pm to help give immunizations to eligible students. Let me know if you need another copy of your student’s immunization record. Please see the attached flyer for more information and how to sign up.
Thank you,
Nurse Haley

PARENTS OF 6th, 7th and 8th GRADERS
ARE YOU MOVING THIS SUMMER?
If you are going to be relocating over the summer to another Plano school, private school or out of the district, please email Rhonda Morgan at Rhonda.morgan@pisd.edu. In your email, please let us know the Students Name, Grade Level, Next Year’s School Name and Address. The state of Texas now requires all schools to follow-up on non-returning students. Without this information, the students will be coded as dropouts in our reports to the state.
This request includes current 8th graders who will not attend Jasper or any other PISD high school because of relocation or attendance at a private school.
Thank you,

PISD Family Resource Page
PISD has launched a Family Resource page on the district’s website. This page provides a searchable list that families, community members and school staff can utilize to help find community resources in order to meet a family’s needs. The list is searchable by agency name, zip code and category. Categories include such areas as basic needs (food assistance, housing assistance), health care (medical, dental, vision), and mental health (substance abuse, counseling, etc.). The family resource page can be found at https://www.pisd.edu/familyresources
