History
Paul Cezanne was born on January 19, 1839 in Provence, France. At the age of ten Paul entered Saint Joseph school in Anix. In 1852 Paul entered the College of Bourbon. Paul's mother was Anne Elizabeth Honorine Aubert. His father was a banker named Louis-Auguste, which that came in handy for Paul because his father had enough money to support his family.
Art Movement
Paul was involved with the Post impressionists movement. A Post- Impressionist is a group of people who revolted against Impressionist. His early works involved landscapes, he is most famous for his Cubism in his paintings. His paintings involve a balance of colors and have unity to his pieces as well.
Gardanne
In this painting it shows a city with some greenery, I really like this piece because the way his brush strokes are they are harsh but blended very well. He has very even unity because all the colors sooth well with each other.
Follage
In this painting it shows a bush or a plant of some sort, emphasizing the leaves. I enjoy this piece because it has a sketchy quality to it. It has a good values of greens and yellows.
Jas de Buffan
In this painting it shows a pool side picture, This would have to be my favorite because it shows the reflection in the pool and it has great perception. I believe that it uses composition very well because the colors they way that they are painted just looks effortless.
