Assessment Calendar

Please communicate and post in your room important Testing Dates related to the grade you teach. It is imperative that they are present that day. We have a very small window to get them to make-up a missed exam. If they miss both attempts they will have to come to school during the summer to test.

The next Clinical Educator training will be conducted on June 26 and July 11. If you have taught for a minimum of three years, are interested in overseeing an intern, and can attend this training please fill out the form below.

Want to provide input or get an update on school safety?

Attend the Town Hall Meeting that will be held on 5/7 from 6-8pm at the WRHS Cafeteria. Current safety efforts, new laws, and plans for complying with law will be discussed. Q&A will follow presentation!

Summer Reading Endorsement Course Offerings

Pasco County Schools offers five reading endorsement courses throughout the school year and summer to provide our teachers an opportunity to add the endorsement to their teaching certificate. In order to receive the endorsement, teachers complete courses that develop their understanding of the foundations of language, research of best practices, assessment, and differentiation in reading, as well as a semester practicum. Once all five courses are successfully completed, teachers can add the endorsement to their certificate.

Attached is a document that lists the courses offered this summer, their myPGS course number, and details about dates that the courses run for the summer. If you have any questions, please contact Rachel Hatten.

Principal Approved Assessment (PAA)- Semester Exam

Attached is a searchable database that identifies courses requiring a Principal Approved Assessment (PAA) when there is no other course standards assessment in place. Please take a look at this document to determine if you will be administering a PAA.


An assessment can be approved, by the principal or designee, as long as the following requirements are met:

  • The assessment is a valid format (ie: selected response, constructed response, project-based assessments, adjudicated performances, practical application assignments or any combination).
  • The teacher has justified that the assessment is aligned to standards assigned to this course.
  • The assessment measures student mastery of content at the necessary level of rigor for the course.
  • Scoring procedures and/or rubrics accompany the assessment.


It is the responsibility of the teacher to present the assessment to their supervising administrator prior to Monday, May 7, 2018. If you have any questions about the process, please do not hesitate to contact your supervising administrator.

Interested in Teaching Extended School Year over the Summer?

Our extended School Year Summer program will run from June 11th through July 14th with a planning day on June 8th.. The hours will be from 8:00 – 12:00 four days a week. I am looking for 5 educators who are able to work successfully with struggling students, and who are highly motivated and passionate about education. I will be hiring for the core content areas, to serve both middle school and high and school along with 1 VE teacher. If you interested please submit your application by Wednesday April 18th.

School-based PLC Courses in myPGS

Please be sure you have registered in myPGS for our School-Based PLC course for the 2017-18 school year. To register, log into myPascoConnect and click on the myPGS icon. Once in myPGS, click on the Courses tab. In the search field type PLC and click Search. Find the course listed for our school and click Register. If you cannot access the course, contact Lisa Luker at lluker@pasco.k12.fl.us.

Assistant Principal Eligibility Process

The summer advertisement for the AP eligibility process will be open from Monday, April 30th through Friday, May 11th. The Tampa Bay Area Writing Project is hosting their Invitational Leadership Institute at the University of South Florida from June 18- June 29, 2018. This opportunity will help teachers develop as instructional leaders with an emphasis on writing.
