Dear RMS Families-
RMS is at the end of Trimester A, and that means on Monday, December 4th Trimester B begins. You can see all finalized grades for Term A by Monday, December 11th in Infinite Campus. Please reach out to Michaele Williamson (williamson.m@sau54.org) if you need to get connected and logged into Infinite Campus. If your son or daughter is struggling with any courses because he or she earned an IWS or an NYC, please reach out to the classroom teacher with any questions. Teams offer intervention opportunities during class, during WINN time (What I Need Now), and after school for tutoring.
During Term B, all students get 2 new Unified Arts classes unless they are assigned to a year-long UA like Band or Chorus. Students can be assigned Art, PE, Music, Business, Journalism, Health, Reading, or Spanish.
As a school we understand the importance of students' needing cell phones to communicate with families. Please become familiar with schedules as students are able to access their phones 3 times during the day: on their way to and from UAs and during lunch. If it is an emergency, please don't hesitate to call the office. If a cell phone becomes a distraction, students may be asked to leave their cell phones at home as it is a privilege to have them at school. Thank you for your support with this process.
During the month of December, winter sports are really taking off with basketball, wrestling, and the cheer squad. In addition, we have our Chorus Concert on December 13th at 7 pm, and our Band Concert on December 18th at 7pm. Both performances will be held at RMS Bridges and Broadbent gymnasium. Finally, we will have a Student Council Spirit Week with theme days from December 18-22. On December 22, there will be a spirit school assembly, honoring students and staff with performances from Chorus and Band.
I hope you have a wonderful December as we get ready for the Holidays!

Notes from the nursing office đź“‹
The district is back to pre-Covid illness guidelines and absence rules. Everyone is able to be in school as long as they are fever free for 24 hours without any fever reducing medications. This also applies to anyone that tests positive for Covid, or has had a Covid exposure, even for household contacts.
It is recommended that anyone that tests positive for Covid wear a mask for 10 days while in public.
All absences need to have a doctor’s note to be excused. The nurses no longer excuse absences. All absences go through the main office.
We hope everyone has a healthy and happy holiday.

We would like to congratulate Rochester Youth Spirit who went up against 10 other teams from all over New England at the Whittemore center and won 2nd place. The team will be going to Florida in December to compete.
Please be mindful of driving safely when dropping and picking up students at Rochester Middle School. We have had some concerns expressed particularly about pick-up after 2:30 pm for intramurals, clubs, music, and sports.
Lost n Found
Please remind your students to check the lost and found for any missing items. All unclaimed items will be donated during the holiday break.
