School Accountability Committee (SAC) Meeting
September 20, 2023 4:30-6:30 in Post-Grad Room in the Library
All public schools in Colorado are required by law to have a School Accountability Committee (SAC).
School accountability committees are made up of parents, school employees and community members.
The purpose of the SAC is to inform, encourage and provide opportunities for parent and community members to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school's instructional program and quality improvement processes. By definition, the SAC is an advisory body. Final decision-making authority rests with the principal or other person or group receiving the recommendation from the SAC (e.g., the Superintendent, District Advisory Committee ("DAC") or Board of Education).
SAC meetings are held throughout the school year. and are open to the public.

Fall Play: Tickets to The Odd Couple are Now on Sale
ThunderRidge High School Theatre
proudly presents
Neil Simon's The Odd Couple (Female Version)
September 27--30
Tickets are on sale at SeatYourself
Students: $10.00 / Adults: $12.00 / Military or Senior: $11.00
Neil Simon’s revision of his hugely successful play, The Odd Couple, sees the lead characters transformed into Olive Madison and Florence Unger. Olive and her group of girlfriends are enjoying their weekly Trivial Pursuit night in Olive’s messy and ill-equipped apartment. As the game continues, Florence arrives, fresh from being dumped by her husband. Fearful that the neurotic Florence might attempt suicide, Olive invites her to move in as her roommate. However, Olive and Florence have VERY different personalities. Where Olive is messy, untidy, and unconcerned about the state of her apartment, Florence is obsessively clean, tidy, and obsessed with hygiene. Olive’s easy-going outlook on life soon clashes with Florence’s highly-strung neurotic tendencies, testing their friendship to the limit. When Olive organizes a double date with the Costazuela brothers, their differences come to a head and sparks fly.

Juniors
Fall is in the air, and do you know what that means? If you said career exploration then you would be oddly correct. Juniors continued exploring careers based on their personality. Next week, they will be looking at their skills, and how those relate to careers.

Student Attendance
Classroom attendance is imperative to student success and achievement. There are federal laws about attending school as well as district policy. Here is a link to the District website with important information regarding attendance policies.
MLO/Bond
The DCSD Board of Education voted unanimously to place a $66M Mill Levy Override and $484M Bond on the November 2023 ballot. All seven Board directors expressed their strong support and personal dedication to our students and our staff.
The Board also unanimously adopted a compensation resolution that will automatically trigger if the MLO passes. For school district staff, this means pay increases would happen automatically should the MLO pass (with increases being paid retroactively back to July 1).
To learn more about how additional funding would benefit our schools and our staff, visit www.dcsdk12.org/funding. We also encourage you to read through the MLO/Bond plan.
