What are fossils?
The remains or impressions of a prehistoric organism preserved in petrified form or as a mold or cast in a rock. It is a slow process that takes millions of years.
What type of rocks are fossils found in!
fossils are found in soil, sand,or gravel. Sometimes bugs are found in ice. Fossils can be found in soil, sand, or gravel because they lay dead in these parts. it depends which layer is beneath them and above them.
Some pics of fossils!

Fossils
These are different fossils of different animals. There is a crustacean, dinosaur, plant, and a fish.
fish fossil
this is a fish fossil found deep in the ocean layers. it use to live millions of years ago.
How are fossils formed!
Fossils are formed when layers of rock cover the bone of an animal or a plant.First soil covers the animal, than sand covers the animal, and finally gravel is the last layer that covers the plant or animal.
Example of how they are formed
A crustacean is killed i while swimming in the ocean. The crustaceans body slowly sinks to the bottom of the ocean. Over time its body decays. Only the shell is left. After millions of years the body is covered with different layers of soil.
