Mrs. Ciminera's Weekly Update
Week of March 13
Happy St. Patrick's Day Week! It is always a fun week at school with lots of green! Today the kids were treated to Irish Dancers who happen to be SCJN students! It was so much fun to see them dance and listen to Irish music.
On Friday, we will have a St. Patrick's Day dress down!! Please come in your best St. Patrick's day or green attire. Kindergarten and first grade may dress down on Thursday!
PreK to first graders are are OFF from school on Friday due to spring conferences.
A big congratulations to the Hurtado Family who welcomed their newest addition, Isabel Louise Hurtado last week! Big sister Sienna is over the moon excited to finally welcome her first sister to join her and her 2 younger brothers! We wish the Hurtados all the best and are praying for them and their new bundle of joy!
We have been talking about this for over a year and next week is the week. On Tuesday afternoon, our Middle States team will arrive. We will welcome three members of the team who will be with us from Tuesday after school through Friday at dismissal. They will visit classrooms, meet with groups of students, talk with teachers, parents, home and school, and other parish staff. We are very ready for their visit and very excited to show them our amazing school! I will update you once they give us their report. I am so thankful to our awesome teachers for their endless amount of work and time they have put into this self study. It has been a great process. We will all have a NOON dismissal next Friday, March 24!
Next Tuesday March 21, we will celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by Rocking our Socks!! Please wear your coolest most colorful socks that day to celebrate the diversity that makes us beautiful! Can't wait to see all your socks!
Title 1 Surveys for PreK 4 to 8th grade are due FRIDAY! PLEASE be sure to fill them out and send in to me by Friday. I really appreciate it!
The 5-8 graders are attending 8:00 Mass once a week on Wednesdays. We rotate the grades each week, you will receive a schedule or reminder from your child's teacher when it is their day to attend Mass. We appreciate you doing your best to get them there in time for Mass, I know it is not always possible and that is ok!
It is hard to believe we are in the third trimester already!! Report cards will be available to view on OptionC on Friday at 3:00. Please take time to review it with your child. Feel free to reach out to your child's teacher with any questions or concerns.
Please be mindful that the school day begins at 8:10AM. Anyone who arrives after that is marked late.
The 8th grade class has come up with a super fun fundraiser for Easter!! Please see the attached flyer for information on Egg My Yard! Here is a link to a form to fill out and have the 8th grade egg your yard the day before Easter, Saturday April 8.
Thank you to the 8th grade for organizing such a fun event!
Believe it or not, Grandparents/Special Friends Day is right around the corner on Tuesday, April 4th at 9:00am. We will send more details as it gets closer, but please complete this survey so we are prepared for our wonderful guests. https://forms.gle/RXLEkKDy8See64uQ9 I ask that you complete the form whether or not your child is coming to school that day. Some people are having a difficult time filling out the forms on their phones, but it has worked when using a computer. Sorry for the inconvenience! This is such a super tradition at SCJN and the best way to kick off the Easter break!
Have an amazing rest of the week!
