Motivate, Challenge, Encourage - Stellar Students!
Our MCE students had a GREAT 1st week of school! We saw LOTS of smiling faces.
I am so proud of how well our students worked together, and followed the 5 Be's: Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Cooperative and Be Safe. Great things are going to happen at MCE this year!
We sent home solar eclipse glasses with students in their Friday Folders. It is up to your discretion, as parents & guardians, if you want your child to use the glasses. We want to thank Montgomery City Eye Consultants for providing our students with these glasses!
Please make sure you and your students protect your eyes properly if you plan to watch the solar eclipse.
Check out this link to learn more about safety and the Solar Eclipse from NASA.
Picture Day is Friday, August 25th
Montgomery City Elementary Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Thank you to everyone who is dropping off and picking up students at MCE.
Everyone working together and following our procedures creates a safe and smooth pick up and drop off experience.
We have one request that will help our end of the day dismissal to move even more smoothly. If parents could teach their students to buckle themselves in, then parents do not need to exit their vehicles. The adults on duty are able to help if needed. This will keep our line of traffic flowing during dismissal.
Thank you for following our adopted procedures as our goal is send ALL our students home safely!

PTO Information
I encourage you to sign up to be a member of our PTO. PTO will be rewarding the class that has the most parents sign up to be members. PTO does many great things for our students and school. They have provided new playground equipment, purchased indoor recess activities for each classroom, funded our field trips and guest speakers/assemblies, and they have purchased Chromebooks so our 3rd-5th grade can be 1-1.
PTO will hold their 1st meeting on Tuesday, September 12th at 6:00 pm. MCE will host a Reading Night for students, and the book fair will be open from 6:00-7:00 pm.
PTO will be hosting a booth at the Montgomery City Autumn Fest, Saturday, Sept. 30th - notify Kaley Reagan if you are able to help.
The PTO Family Fall Festival will be held on Friday, October 13th from 5:30-7:30pm.
We are looking forward to a great evening of family fun!
Help us ensure your child's safety at the end of the day!
If you need to make a change to your child’s normal routine you must send a note with your child in the morning. If it is an emergency, you must call and speak to a secretary before 2pm. Do not leave a message on the school answering service. The answering service is to report absences only, and it is not checked throughout the day.
We will not make any changes after 2pm. Our goal is to get every student safely to their correct destination at the end of each day. We need your help to make sure this happens.
You must opt in to receive text messages from School Messenger
