SEPTEMBER PTO FUNDRAISER
We're so excited to tell you about our only major fundraiser this semester, Apex Color Battle! Apex is a local company and will be on campus for 2 weeks. During the Fundraiser, students will be challenged to get donations to raise money for our school. Funds raised this year will be used to pay for Playground Equipment, PBIS Prizes, and Student Incentives. Please look for more info about the program and ways to support our school as we get closer to the event.
FROM OUR SCHOOL COUNSELOR AND SOCIAL WORKER
September 21-22:
Hello Madison Park Lions,
Welcome back to another school year, we are so happy and excited to have you all on campus this year. Just a quick introduction to who we are here at Madison Park Middle School. Ill go first… HI!! My name is Ms. Santos and I am the School Counselor here at Park. My job here is to provide direct student support through the following: individual or group counseling to help during times of transition, heightened stress, critical change or other situations impacting student success, I assess student abilities, interests and achievement to guide students in making decisions about their future, and lastly, collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community members to best support every student. Next we have Mrs. Lopez our School Social Worker! Mrs. Lopez is amazing at outreaching within our community to help provide the best support for our families, she provides interventions for students to best foster social emotional learning, and collaborates with teachers, administrators, and families to best support every student here at Park. Now that you are a little more familiar with who we are and what we do on campus… here are some updates for this new school year! September we will be starting out IM IT social emotional learning. IM IT stands for In Madison It's Taught. This Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum is used not only at Madison Park Middle School but at all schools within the Madison Elementary School District. Here at Madison Park, we have incorporated our Homeroom Teachers. In September our two traits that we will be focusing on are: Self Regulation and Self Advocacy. Please ask your student to review with you at home what their IM IT SEL lesson for the day was to practice not only at school but also at home! To find out more about Mrs. Lopez or Ms. Santos please visit our website! Park Lions Care
We look forward to an amazing school year!
Always,
Ms. Santos and Mrs. Lopez

FROM OUR FOOD SERVICE OFFICE
Just another reminder that free meals for all children 18 years old and younger have been extended by USDA legislation AGAIN! Any child regardless of their financial status can still eat our meals for free (at no cost) until June 30th, 2022!
Reminder: Students must have funds on their account to purchase separate a la carte items like milk, juice, water, Smart Snack chips, etc. even though meals themselves are free.
Also note, it is still important for families that qualify for free and reduced meals to fill out a free and reduced application so that our schools can receive Title I funding, and so that families are able to qualify for PEBT benefits. Electronic applications can be completed online at https://family.titank12.com/
BEFORE AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS
FROM OUR HEALTH OFFICE
ATTENTION PARENTS OF STUDENTS ENTERING 6TH, 7TH, and 8TH GRADE
For the 2021/2022 School year all 6, 7th, and 8th graders who are 11 years of age and older are required to obtain two adolescent vaccines. One is Tdap - This is tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis combination vaccine. This offers the student added protection against pertussis or whooping cough. The second vaccine is Menactra or Menveo. (MCV4) It protects against a bacteria that can cause meningitis, This was a new requirement for the 2008/2009 school year, so current 7th and 8th graders have probably already had these two immunizations.
