Class Exit Tickets
Used to collect information about students understanding.
Google Form
Use a Google Form as an Exit Ticket. This is generic form can be used time and again and uses the 3,2,1 Exit Ticket strategy. I love Google Forms because they can be used for just about anything.
Padlet
Padlet is a free online virtual wall for users to collaborate by adding post-it notes with videos, links, files and text. It;'s a great exit ticket tool. This Padlet was used after a tech terms test to see if the strategies and assignments done in class helped prepare the students for the test.
Ticket to Leave
This is a simple way to get feedback about the class. This can be done with technology or without. I have had students line up and before they can leave they must tell me one important thing they learned in class today, one new thing they learned in class today, how might they use this tool in another class. The one catch is they cannot repeat what the two people in front of them said.
Quick Video/Audio Recording
Have students create a short (30 second summary) video or audio recording about about their learning. Then have students post the video/recording to their blog, Google Classroom stream, Google Form or another online site.
Here are some of the tools that could be used:
Voki
Device Video Camera
Tellagami
Audacity
iMovie
You could also have a video prompt or questions (this would be useful for students who need a bit more direction).
I might ask these questions of my Web Design Class students:
- Use three words to describe this class.
- What are two thing you did in class this week which made you feel accomplished. (example: created first HTML/CSS page, created a logo in Photoshop.)
- In what way did you contribute to class this week?
Word Cloud
Have students use Tagxedo, Wordle, or another word cloud tool to summarize a lesson, a book, objectives, etc.
They can then post their product to a blog, Classroom, Twitter, etc.
