7 Mindsets

The mindset of the month is Everything is Possible! Today we started our mindset rotations in specials. Over the next three weeks the students will participate in art projects, PE activities, and sing songs about Everything is Possible. One of the ways you can look through the everything is possible lens is by embracing creativity. The only time you are creating new things in your life is when you’re being imaginative and innovative. If you want things to change, and want things you’ve never had, you must do things you’ve never done. This could be reading a book to acquire new knowledge, debating a topic with a friend, or trying a new activity. Your life can only expand through creative action!

Spirit Night at Buffalo's

Our last Spirit Night was so successful, Buffalo's asked that we come back this month. Our next spirit night will be Thursday 9/25 from 4-9 pm! Please mark your calendars and come out to support Mashburn. Last month you helped us bring in $310!!! Let’s beat that this month. See you there next Thursday!!

From the Clinic

Recently, it has been reported in the news that there is an increase of a virus called enterovirus D68. Outbreaks of enterovirus D68 (a distant cousin of the polio virus) causes respiratory symptoms and appears to be worse in children with asthma. Ten states (including Georgia) are reporting an increase in outbreaks of the EV-D68 virus this year. There is no vaccine and antibiotics do not work on a virus. The best way to protect yourself and others from infection is to wash your hands with soap and water.

Please take a few minutes to view the school nurse tab on our Mashburn web page. Links and content are updated throughout the year. Our newest one is –Head lice help. Under that link you will find helpful information and a few good resources too. If you are still unsure of what to do or FCS policy on lice, please don’t hesitate to call Nurse Deana at 770-889-1630 x750113.
